At Watches and Wonders 2023, Oris collaborated with The Muppets to introduce the ProPilot X Kermit (Ref. 01 400 7778 7157-SET), a 39mm titanium watch featuring a green dial, whose date window at 6 showed a smiling Kermit on the first day of the month. The watch immediately garnered adulation and a legion of followers. Now, nearly two years later, Oris has introduced its second collaboration with The Muppets - the new ProPilot X Miss Piggy Edition (Ref. 01 531 7796 4158-07 8 17 05LC), much like fabulous and chic character from The Muppet Show that it is named after, is a striking, stylish watch for women.
The highlight of the latest edition is its hot pink dial that features a lab-grown baguette-cut diamond at 12 o’clock and pink bar hour markers. The hour, minute, and seconds hand is in stainless steel, and unlike the Kermit watch, is devoid of a date window. However, Miss Piggy makes an appearance in a spyhole on the caseback - her portrait features on the lilac rotor, and appears and disappears as it rotates.
Though the watch silhouette shares a resemblance with the previous model, it is the first time that the ProPilot X has been created in steel (it has so far been a preserve of titanium), and has a small diameter of 34mm.
“We’re optimistic about the future, and we want to have some fun getting there. Life’s too short not to have big dreams and to enjoy yourself,” says Rolf Studer, CEO of Oris, about the collaboration. “We made this watch for independent, stylish, and above all, fabulous individuals and we couldn’t think of a better collaborator than you, a global icon, to be the star of the project.”
Powering the watch is Oris 531 automatic movement beating at 4Hz frequency and boasting a 42 hours of power reserve. The watch is water resistant up to 100 metres. A multi-piece brushed and polished stainless steel metal bracelet with a folding lift clasp completes the watch.
