In September 2024, Jacob & Co. and Salman Khan announced that they were working on a collection and let people anticipate what it would be. Khan is a brand friend (he was recently also spotted wearing the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon), and in fact, shortly before that, Jacob Arabo, Founder and Creative Director of Jacob & Co., had shared a video on his Instagram where he was seen lending his fully-diamond studded Billionaire watch to the actor to try on his wrist. Now, that friendship, and the watch that they had announced, has culminated in a new release – a special edition of The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone.
The collaborative watch draws inspiration from the The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone watch, which was gifted to Jacob by his father as a symbol of time’s significance and the importance of realizing one’s unlimited potential. Following the same emotional connection, the watch honours Khan’s father, Salim Khan, renowned scriptwriter who has delivered multiple cinema hits in India.
"Time connects us across generations. When I learned Jacob’s story, I knew I wanted to create a timepiece that honored my father’s role in my life. ‘The World Is Yours’ is more than a watch—it’s a symbol of family, legacy, and the moments that shape us,” says Khan, in the press release.
Salman Khan x Jacob & Co. The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone is encased in 43mm stainless steel. The exclusive timepiece features a blue PVD titanium three-dimensional dial that resembles a globe. There are rose gold-plated hands and an adjustable dual timezone complication at 12 and 6 o’clock, which allows fully independent hour and minute setting; it therefore allows Indian users to manually set India’s GMT +5:30 offset. Further, the orange and green colour of the globes pay tribute to India’s rich heritage. The green (lower dial) also features the actor’s initials, ‘SK’, at the 6 o’clock mark.
Turning the watch over reveals a closed caseback where a laser-engraved ‘Salman Khan’ inscription can be seen placed in the center of a world map, indicative of the actor’s global influence. Powering the watch is the Manufacture Jacob & Co Self-Winding JCAA14, beating at 4Hz and providing a power reserve of about 42 hours. A blue alligator leather with stainless steel pin buckle completes the watch.
The watch is offered in a custom box from Jacob & Co. in the actor’s favorite shade of turquoise, mirroring his turquoise bracelet, which he always wears. Over the years, Jacob & Co. has created The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone in several iterations and had recently added The World Is Yours Dual Time Zone Tourbillon to the collection.
