Czapek & Cie. launched the Promenade collection at Watches and Wonders 2024 with the motive to include chic, relaxed, and easy-to-wear timepieces in the line. The debut models of the lines were Promenade Goutte d'Eau and Guilloché Ivoire, followed by the recently launched Promenade Plisse, featuring dials in ivory, pearl white, and rose colours. Expanding the line, the brand has now released the Diamond Drops iteration.
Czapek & Cie. Promenade Diamond DropsLike previous models released in the line, the latest bejewelled model features a 38mm case, but unlike stainless steel, this time it is crafted in white gold. The watch is a bejewelled sequel of the Goutte d’Eau (which means drops of water), whose dial seems like water rippling on a calm pond. Read about the watch here.
“When we sold out of Goutte d’Eau during its launch at Watches and Wonders 2024 (the watches are being delivered to clients this month) we immediately started playing with other thoughts about water in its various forms – how it looks when light dances on the surface, how dewdrops sparkle on a sunny morning, what happens when water freezes to become snow or ice... This invited us to play not only with design, colour and materials but also the craft of gem-setting, asking ourselves how we could express the original idea in new ways,” says Xavier de Roquemaurel, CEO of Czapek & Cie.
This time, the brand has reinterpreted the same rippling effect by integrating 360 diamonds (1.5 cts) and 319 sapphires in different shades of blue (1.58 cts), arranged on the dial in snow-setting—the small seconds at 4:30 is where the ripples ‘emerge from’. Further, the bezel, flange, and crown are also adorned with a total of 173 diamonds (1.63 cts).
