Breitling debuts first-ever meteorite dial in collaboration with footballer Erling Haaland

The Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat collection comprises two limited edition watches – the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland and the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland.
Breitling debuts its meteorite dial timepieces in collaboration with Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland, who has become Manchester City’s record-breaking striker. The Erling Haaland Signature Chronomat collection comprises two limited edition watches – the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland and the Chronomat B01 42 Erling Haaland. There is also a super-exclusive edition of only 5 pieces, created just for Haaland and his circle, which won’t be available to the public.

“Erling plays like he’s from another planet, so when we talked about materials, a meteorite dial was the perfect fit,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern. “It’s a watch as powerful and singular as he is.”

Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland Ref. P323982A1F1S1

The Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 Erling Haaland Ref. P323982A1F1S1 features a Muonionalusta meteorite dial encased in a 40 mm stainless-steel case topped with a platinum bezel. On the dial, there is a 24-hour black insert on the rehaut and the hour makers are baton shaped. Central hands display time, along with an arrow tipped red-gold GMT hand. The second hand features Haaland’s initials (EH) as the counter balance. There is a date window at 6 o’clock. Self-winding mechanical Breitling Caliber 32 powers the watch offering approx. 42 hours of power reserve. A screwdown crown is at 3 o’clock, working towards the water resistance of 200 metres. Turning the watch reveals a special caseback featuring an engraving of Haaland’s signature goal-celebration pose. “ONE OF 500” and “ERLING HAALAND 9” are also engraved on the caseback. This Ref. is limited to 500 pieces and the use of the Muonionalusta meteorite, one of the oldest materials ever discovered on Earth, makes all the pieces unique.

Encased in 42 mm 18-karat red gold, the watch features contrasting black chronograph sub-dials – 30 minutes at 3 o’clock, hours at 6 o’clock housing a date window, and sub-seconds at 9 o’clock. The chronograph pushers are located at 2 and 4 o’clock. In this iteration, it is the central chronograph hand that features Haaland’s initials. Baton hour-markers and red-gold hands are finished with Super-LumiNova®. Powering this watch is Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, offering a power reserve of 70 hours, visible through a sapphire-crystal caseback featuring “ONE OF 250” and Haaland’s number 9.
