When it comes to the Mille Miglia collection from Chopard, one can immediately remember the sweet fragrance of Italian scents, the charm of the Tuscan villages and the winding roads of Lombardy. As the official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia race since 1988, Chopard has time and again released a range of timepieces with special designs that have been sometimes inspired or dedicated to this iconic race itself.
For 2020, Chopard unveils a special limited edition watch inspired by the style and evocative atmosphere of the world of historic motoring – the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control. Designed in conjunction to the car paint colours and design codes of classic cars, the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control is a fitting timepiece dedicated to the 'dolce vita' gentleman driver and his unfaltering spirit and passion towards motor-racing.
The Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control features a 43mm two-tone steel and 18-carat ethical rosegold case that is set with a circular satin brushed ruthenium grey-coloured dial. This massively understated but beautifully treated grey dial features Super-LumiNova- painted glided appliqués, facetted glided hours and minutes hands. What stands out most on the dial is the power reserve indicator at 9 o' clock that resembles a typical classic car fuel gauge and the date-window at 3 o' clock that looks like the miniature version of the '1000 Miglia' direction arrow found along the route of the race. All these design features makes this watch a true drivers watch.
Endowed with a chronometer-certified 01.08-C automatic movement with a power-reserve of 60 hours, the watch offers hours, minutes, seconds, power-reserve indicator and date function.
Limited to just 500 pieces, the Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control is fitted with a cognac-coloured perforated calfskin strap with a rubber lining that is based on the pattern of the classic 1960s Dunlop racing tyre.
