TAG Heuer Launches fourth generation Calibre E4 Smartwatch

The 4th generation Calibre E4 Smartwatch from TAG Heuer, in 42mm and 45mm variants, has an array of features for fitness enthusiasts.

The year was 2015 when TAG Heuer entered the domain of smartwatches that could be connected to smartphones using Android or iOS operation systems; this was followed by the second generation Connected Modular 45 in 2017, then in 2020 TAG Heuer launched a smartwatch with an OLED touchscreen. Come 2022, the Swiss marquee watchmaker has launched the fourth generation of its smartwatch connected range – the Connected Calibre E4, in 42mm and 45mm variants, each flaunting TAG Heuer’s aesthetics and access to a whole world of features, activities, wellness apps, and watch faces inspired from the brand's legacy.

So what can the wearer expect from the new range? The 42mm is positioned as an everyday watch, featuring a thinner case and bezel, making it ideal for outdoor activities or workouts. The 45mm, though sporty as well, is meant for those who like an old-school feel, and comes with a black ceramic bezel that was also seen in the earlier variants.

‘‘With these two new, very different Connected watches, we hope to bring a new generation of TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 to a wider range of customers, becoming a companion in their daily lives: From business to sport activities to the most elegant dinners. Since 2015, TAG Heuer has been a pioneer in the luxury connected watch sector. The development of these new watches highlights how Connected has become a pillar of TAG Heuer, alongside Aquaracer and Carrera, building on 160 years of Swiss watchmaking experience,” says Frédéric Arnault, CEO, TAG Heuer.

Features of the Calibre E4 Smartwatch

Adding new digital complications to Calibre E4 Smartwatch, TAG Heuer has incorporated an array of sports and wellness functions directly on the face of the watch (more of these are expected in the coming months). The highlight is the guided workouts feature, though which either the watch guides the wearers through their existing workout routine/program, or creates one for them, with animations on the screen, basis their choices. The watches also features an altimeter, which works in synchronisation with the GPS function to measure not only the wearer’s exact location but also to track relevant outdoor activities. It is coupled with a comprehensive range of sensors like accelerometer, heart rate monitor, and compass.

The newly launched Calibre E4 Smartwatch sports new faces including an all-new animated Riverside watch face for a more sci-fi time viewing and the new Wellness watch face, which displays relevant information directly on the watch’s home screen. The wearer can now view his heart rate, information on his physical activities, and also the number of walks undertaken. Also launched is a range of multi-coloured rubber straps that wearers can select from to change the look of their pieces.

The battery life of Connected Calibre E4 is 30% longer on the 45mm and connectivity on a smartphone is much faster due to Bluetooth 5.0 and the new wireless standard offers data transfer at twice the speed.

TAG Heuer Connect Trade-In Program

The launch of the new watches also marks the unveiling of TAG Heuer's new Connect Trade-Program. This program allows the owners of previous generation smartwatches to avail credits in exchange for a Connected Watch Calibre E4. This program applies to all previous smartwatches, even those that are non-functional, but come under the ambit of certain criteria. Through this program, TAG Heuer will be dismantling previous generation smartwatches and separating the reusable materials.

This Trade-In Program will commence from March 10th this year in TAG Heuer owned boutiques and selected e-commerce platforms.
