TAG Heuer unveils Carrera Chronograph and Tourbillon Extreme Sport timepieces

The six new Extreme Sport timepieces feature a robust sculpted build and a sporty skeletonised dial
Strengthening the legacy of the Carrera line, TAG Heuer has unveiled six new timepieces in the sporty Extreme Sport collection. There are four variations of the Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport, and two of the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport. The collection is named after the extreme challenges in the Carrera Panamericana Road race held in Mexico, and was first presented in 2016.

The highlight of the new timepieces comes in their case construction where one container is integrated with two barrels on the sides, creating a seamless and durable build. Complementing the robust construction is the rhodium-plated skeleton dial with fine grained hollowed side and black bold lines that conceal the brand’s shield logo at the centre and allow legibility. Ergonomically designed, other elements of the watch include a reduced case diameter at 44mm, lug-to-lug length at 49.70mm, and thickness at 15.10mm, so as to ensure comfort on the wearer’s wrist. Furthermore, the integrated rubber straps that take cues from the air intake systems of racing cars, keep up with the sporty aesthetics.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport features a minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, seconds indicator and a date window with white Super-LumiNova at 6 o’clock, and hour chronograph counter at 9 o’clock. The four timepieces are powered by in-house calibre TH20-00 with an 80-hour reserve, vertical clutch, column wheel, a bidirectional automatic winding system, and a new shield-shaped rotor. In the Tourbillon Extreme Sport models, the seconds indicator at 6 is replaced by a tourbillon and driving it is the in-house calibre TH20-09 with a 65-hour reserve and all the similar attributes of the TH20-00.

The Chronograph Extreme Sport includes—Ref. CBU2081.FT6274 in grade 2 titanium that features elements in blue, such as a blue flange and blue lacquered central hand, and blue rubber strap; Ref. CBU2082.FT6275 also comes in grade 2 titanium with orange-coloured elements and a matching rubber strap; Ref. CBU2080.FT6272 embraces black and grey in its design and is made with black DLC grade-2 titanium flanked with black rubber strap; finally, Ref. CBU2050.FT6273 is crafted in 18K 5N rose gold also paired with black rubber strap. All models feature crown and push buttons in black DLC grade-5 titanium crown and ceramic black matte tachymeter fixed bezel.

Both feature black DLC grade-5 titanium crown and push buttons, and flanked with black rubber strap.
All six timepieces have indexes and hour and minute hands coated with white Super-LumiNova® that glows green in the dark, and are water resistant up to 100 metres.

The prices of the Chronograph Extreme Sport timepieces are—Rs 7,90,000 (approx.) for Ref. CBU2081.FT6274 and CBU2082.FT6275, Rs 8,18,000 (approx.) for Ref. CBU2080.FT6272, and Rs 11,97,000 (approx.) for Ref. CBU2050.FT6273.
