Since the release of Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms, the first modern diver’s watch, in 1953, the line has received several timepieces, and recently even added a Fifty Fathoms Automatique 42mm in stainless steel. The iconic line now debuts with two Fifty Fathoms Automatique for women. One comes in a playful pink (Ref. 5007 12B44R NAFA) and the other comes in powerful black (Ref. 5007 3644A B52B).
While the design is directly inspired by the brand’s previous models, the diameters of the watches have been reduced to 38.2mm. There is a standard unidirectional rotating sapphire bezel with a ceramic insert. The pink edition is crafted in titanium, while the black edition is made in 18K rose gold. The watches feature white mother-of-pearl dials with subtly graduated black and pink colouring respectively.
Further, the dial design is also the same with Arabic markers at 12,3,6, and 9 o’clock, hour markers, and hands in matching pink or vintage green filled with Super-LumiNova. The dial is kept subtle with the absence of a date window.
Visible through the sapphire caseback is the automatic Calibre 1153, boasting a power reserve of about 100 hours. The pink edition is offered with a titanium bracelet or a white fabric strap with two-tone pink stripes, while the black edition comes with tropic rubber, black sailcloth, or black fabric NATO strap options.
Prices: Rs. 27,45,000 onwards for the black edition and Rs. 16,30,000 onwards for the pink edition.
