Christie's Rare Watches Auction

Christie's begins its international tour for the upcoming Autumn edition of their Rare Watches auction scheduled for the 12th of November in Geneva. The auction will be showcasing 234 unique watches spanning across the late 18th century to the present day timeline. Many of the timepieces have been consigned by private collectors, are fresh to the market and have an estimate to go as high as CHF 2,000,000. Highlights below.

Gurvisha Ahuja

Made in 1959, this watch has been consigned by the family of the original owner who have kept it in very good condition. It's available with all the paperwork and certificate. This timepiece is one of the firm's rarest perpetual calendars.

Featuring an Mk I dial, this stainless steel Panda has been consigned by the family of the original owner.

A rare cloisonné enamel dial is a highlight from the Rolex lots. This unique reference has been consigned by a private collector.

A rare pink-gold Rolex world time watch with a Louis Cottier system, circa 1945, it's one of the only three known to exist till date.

With nine complications, including a minute repeating perpetual calendar as well as a split seconds chronograph, this pocket watch was gifted to Mr. Chrysler by his friend and business partner James C. Brady, owner of Maxwell Motor Company in 1922.

The Breguet no. 3105 has been consigned by a descendant of the watches original owner, the second Earl of Lucan. The watch is an extremely fine and important, possibly unique, minute repeating on gong and quarters à toc, jump-hour watch with equation of time chart.

A world-first combination of complications, this is the only wristwatch to feature a tourbillon with single button chronograph, retrograde date and retrograde GMT and rolling days of the week and moon phase displays. This is the first of eleven limited editions and is designed by Christophe Claret and Peter Speake-Marin.

A 50-piece limited edition, this is the only mechanical watch with a music function that provides four tunes on four separate musical discs. These are W.A. Mozart - The Magic Flute (Glockenspiel), J. Pachelbel – Canon, J. Brahms - Hungarian Dance No.1, and Vivaldi - The Four Seasons (Spring).

Thomas Prescher Tourbillon This is the first Thomas Prescher Tourbillon to be offered at public auction. Consigned by the original owner, the watch features a triple axis flying tourbillon with a constant force mechanism. It is also the first wristwatch to feature a constant force mechanism within the tourbillon carriage itself.
