India's leading consumer goods company Titan Company Ltd. in collaboration with Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) launches the release of its new brand new watch collection – the Khadi collection crafted in authentic Khadi.
This is the first time that the Indian watch brand has used a non-horological material like Khadi to create a timepiece. The indigenous material has been used in the dial and strap of the watch and offered in a light grey colour that works beautifully with the silver polished markers and case.
Proudly sitting on the light grey dial (at 6 o' clock) is the Khadi Chakra that symbolises not just the collaboration between Titan and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) but also brings home the “Made in India” philosophy of the two. The strap available for the collection is also made of Khadi that is treated with a special coating to make the material more durable without compromising on its authentic texture.
The collection was unveiled by by Hon. Union Minister of MSME, Road Transport & Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Hon. Minister of State MSME, Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, Shri Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Secretary of MSME, Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, Chairman of KVIC, Mr. Vinai Kumar Saxena, and Mr. Ravi Kant – Chief Executive Officer, Watches & Wearables, Titan Company Limited at The Leela Palace, New Delhi.
The watches are available in two variants (men and women) and are priced at INR 4,995/. The collection is exclusively available online here.
