Geneva Watch Days 2024: Ressence introduces a new mechanical oil-filled watch in black

The Type 3 BB2 is the winner of the ‘Best of the Best’ watch design at the Red Dot Design Awards 2024
At the Geneva Watch Days 2024, Ressence new Type 3 Black Black 2 joins the brand’s popular Type 3 collection. The timepiece in all black aesthetics has also been announced as the ‘Best of the Best’ watch design at the Red Dot Design Awards 2024 in June. Read about the brand's offering from last year here

Drawing aesthetic inspiration from the TYPE 3 BBB released in 2022, the new Type 3 BB2 features a 44mm grade 5 titanium pebble-shaped case topped with domed sapphire crystals with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Further, there is a convex grade 5 titanium black dial with eccentric biaxial satellites inclined at 3°, the largest subdial, shows hours; 4.75° that shows thermal gauge with red/green for hot/cold temperature and day; and a subdial with green showing weekends.

Minutes on the dial is indicated by the longest hand while the date is shown by the static green marker at 6 o’clock at the periphery. Further, there are grade A Super-LumiNova® filled Arabic indications and the dial has two separate sealed chambers with the upper one filled with 3.75 ml of oil.

The Type 3 BB2 is powered by the brand’s patented ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System) 3.5 - Ressence Orbital Convex System - module driven by the minute axle of a customised 2824/2 automatic base calibre with a 36-hours of power reserve. ROCS is a unique three-dimensional in-house module for an intuitive reading of time, on the dial of a Ressence watch, the hours, minutes, and seconds are presented on the same flat plane, making it easy on the wearer to read time. This involved convex discs where hands rotated and orbited each other on an ever-moving dial, while always maintaining the correct angle between hours and minutes. ROCS uses the same reading patterns to indicate the time as traditional dials with hands, albeit with improved reading ergonomics.

A matching honeycomb strap flanks the case with an ardillon buckle and the watch is priced at Rs. 37,71,000 (approx.)
