Watches and Wonders 2023: Parmigiani Fleurier’s new models are a quintessence of simplicity and elegance

Parmigiani Fleurier’s new timepieces in platinum and gold, exude elegance, minimalism, and legibility at their best
Swiss-based Parmigiani Fleurier’s new models at Watches and Wonders 2023 include platinum and gold, world premiers, and a trilogy calendar set.

TONDA PF Minute Rattrapante, a 2023 World Premiere
Parmigiani brings World Premier of the TONDA PF Minute Rattrapante at Watches and Wonders 2023 a year after TONDA PF GMT Rattrapante created ripples at the watch fair back in 2022.

The new Minute Rattrapante replaces the graduated bezel, an important aspect of a diver’s watch, with the movement itself. In contrast to TONDA PF GMT Rattrapante, which only allows for hour-by-hour increments between local and home time, this new modification to the function enables the minutes to be displayed in both five- and one-minute increments. The dial has an hour hand and two minute hands that are superimposed. The rhodium-plated gold one shows real-time together with the hour hand. The other minute hand, made of 18k rose gold, allows for counting down the minutes in either five- or one-minute increments. Either pusher can be used to advance the rose gold hand, the pusher at 8 o'clock moves the rose gold minute hand by 5 minutes and the one at 10 o'clock moves it by one minute. The passed time will be considered to have been completed when the rhodium-plated hand reaches the position of the 18k rose gold hand. It is reset by pushing the pusher integrated into the crown in a way similar to the split-seconds function.

The 40mm case and bracelet are made with satin-finished stainless steel and the sand grey dial has a Grain d’Orge hand-guilloché finish. The skeletonized delta-shaped hands are in 18K gold with rhodium-plated appliques. Automatic manufacture PF052 movement powers the watch and offers about 48 hours of reserve.

TONDA PF GMT Rattrapante, a 2022 World Premiere
The iconic piece launched in Watches and Wonders 2022, the TONDA PF GMT Rattrapante, a 2022 World Premiere, makes a comeback this year with an opulent 18K rose gold case complemented by a Milano blue dial featuring a delicate barleycorn guilloché pattern.

The sleek model has two hour hands, one in rose gold and the other in rhodium-plated gold. The 18K rose gold hand indicates the local time and performs a one-hour jump when the 8 o'clock pusher is pressed, exposing the rhodium-plated gold hand showing the home time. Pressing the crown-integrated button when the dual-time information is no longer needed causes the rose gold hand to retake its position above the rhodium-plated gold hand like a chronograph split-seconds hand.

The 40mm case is polished and satin-finished and houses the automatic manufacture PF051 movement, which offers about 48 hours of power reserve.

Cultural Calendar Trilogy Sets
Parmigiani Fleurier introduces a calendar trilogy set consisting of three watches displaying three different cultural calendars - Gregorian, Islamic and Chinese. The watches will be sold as a set which is a limited edition of three boxes.

All three timepieces are crafted in polished and satin-finished platinum 950 featuring a 42mm case featuring a sandblasted platinum 950 dial. The 18K gold hours and minute hands are skeletonized delta-shaped and plated with rhodium while the calendar and seconds hands are in rhodium-plated steel. At 6 o’clock lies the moonphase indicator in blue aventurine.
The caseback is decorated with the engravings- serial number, “PARMIGIANI FLEURIER”, and “Edition Limitée de 3 pièces”.

Calibre PF339 powers the TONDA PF Gregorian Calendar, calibre PF008 drives the Xiali Calendar, and calibre PF009 powers the Hijri Perpetual Calendar. All the timepieces are water-resistant up to 100 metres.

TONDA PF Micro-Rotor
The TONDA PF Micro-Rotor has laid the core values for Parmigiani Fleurier’s models since its launch in September 2021. The earlier versions had steel and platinum bezel or 18K rose gold, the new TONDA PF Micro-Rotor is now made in an all-platinum version- a sleek and monochromatic model.

The 40mm platinum 950 case is designed with a knurled bezel, flanked by the bracelet in the same material, all polished and satin-finished. The sandblasted platinum 950 dial features a date window at 6, and skeletonized delta-shaped hands in rhodium-plated 18K gold. Caseback has the engravings- serial number and “PARMIGIANI FLEURIER”. The watch is water resistant to 100 metres. Automatic PF703 movement drives the watch and offers about 48 hours of power reserve.

TONDA PF Flying Tourbillon
Last year, TONDA PF Tourbillon was released as a limited edition of 25 pieces, this year the TONDA PF Flying Tourbillon comes as a non-limited, all-platinum edition and in a striking Milano blue sandblasted platinum dial- Parmigiani’s signature colour. The flying tourbillon can be seen at the 7 o’clock position, and the other movement components of Calibre PF517 can be seen through the sapphire caseback.

Similar to other Parmiginai Fleurier releases, this timepiece is also made in polished and satin-finished platinum 950 with a knurled bezel. The case size is 42mm and the caseback features engravings with the serial number and “PARMIGIANI FLEURIER”. The hands and appliques also remain the same. Circular Côtes de Genève decoration adorns the movement.

TONDA PF Chronographe Rattrapante
The new TONDA PF Chronographe Rattrapante celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Maison. This new model is the reinterpretation of the successful first model in platinum launched in 2022. This one is crafted in 18K rose gold, and is a limited edition of 30. The 18K rose gold makes the 42mm case, hand and appliques, the movement, and the bracelet, while the dial is in a contrasting silver hue of sandblasted platinum 950. The caseback features the engravings- serial number, “Edition Limitée X/30”, “PARMIGIANI FLEURIER”, and “36’000 Alt/h”. Manual-winding PF361 movement powers the watch and offers about 65 hours of reserve.
