The new MoonSwatch Mission To EarthPhase lands with a novel complication

The new MoonSwatch Mission To EarthPhase shows the phases of the Earth as seen from the Moon
Swatch and OMEGA have never failed to grab eyeballs with every release of their MoonSwatch. The duo has again created the buzz with the latest timepiece in line, the MoonSwatch Mission to EarthPhase, decked with a brand new complication—the phases of the Earth as viewed from the Moon. The watch will have a non-limited production.

The 42mm timepiece is crafted in grey Bioceramic, featuring a new colour scheme in the collection. The dial is also grey with a grainy texture, and features a patented Earth phase indicator at 10 o’clock that shows a colourful motif of the Earth as seen from the Moon, over a textured lunar surface motif, bringing the concept to life. The Moon completes its phases in 29.5 days, and vice-versa the Earth for someone on the moon. Therefore the Earth and the Moon go through opposite phases in the same number of days. The oceans on the earth motif are coated with UV ink that glow blue in the UV light. Next to it at the 2 o’clock subdial, two oversized moon phase discs rotate with a white glow of Super-LumiNova®.

The dial features the Speedmaster and the MoonSwatch logos. The hour, minute, and chronograph seconds hands and indexes are coated with light grey Grade A Super-LumiNova® that glow green in the dark. The small seconds lie at 6 o’clock, and a black tachymeter scale outlines the dial with grey-coloured markers. On the flip side, the caseback features the footprint of Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the Moon.

The timepiece is powered by quartz movement and comes flanked with a black VELCRO® strap with light grey topstitch details and Bioceramic loop closure. The watch is priced at INR 28,000 (approx.) and is available for purchase at select Swatch stores globally starting November 2.
