Founded in 2013 by watchmaker Rémi Maillat, Krayon is an independent Swiss watch brand that focuses on novel complications, such as displaying sunrise and sunset times, along with exceptional craftsmanship and wearability. One of the brand’s signatures is its ‘Anywhere’ watches, which can display the sunrise and sunset times for any location in the world chosen by the wearer. Now, following the same concept, the brand introduces a new iteration, the ‘Anywhere Parhelion’, the first gem-set watch in the line.
The watch is decorated with 171 sapphires
The name of the watch comes from an atmospheric optical phenomenon in which sunlight refracts through ice crystals in clouds. The dial is inspired by this phenomenon, which the founder experienced during a trip to Greenland.
Crafted in a 42 mm white gold alloy case, the watch is decorated with 171 sapphires set along the case sides, bezel, lugs, and pin buckle. One of its highlights is what the brand calls the ‘Krayon Cut’. The gemstone at 12 o’clock is cut into a Y shape, reflecting the brand’s logo.
Reflecting the icy waters of Greenland, the central dial is made of light blue mother-of-pearl. It is decorated with 11 Krayon-cut diamonds in a floating setting. Meanwhile, the outer edge of the dial features two sections: a light blue section representing daytime and a shimmering dark blue section representing nighttime.
Powering the watch is the brand’s in-house C030 calibre, which displays sunrise and sunset times anywhere on Earth. A dark blue alligator leather strap completes the watch.
