Art of Time turns 10, releases two limited edition timepieces in collaboration with Roger Dubuis

Art of Time releases limited edition watches, the Excalibur Monobalancier Lord Ganesha Edition and the Velvet Automatic, in collaboration with Roger Dubuis
Founded in 2015, India’s leading watch retail boutique, Art of Time, turned 10 this year. Celebrating this milestone, the retailer has collaborated with watchmaker Roger Dubuis to create two limited-edition timepieces: The Excalibur Monobalancier Lord Ganesha Edition and the Velvet Automatic.

The Excalibur Monobalancier Lord Ganesha Edition honours India’s beloved deity and the spirit of new beginnings. Encased in 42 mm 18-karat pink gold, the watch is a limited edition of just 8 pieces. Aesthetically, the timepiece makes an immediate impact with its personalised sapphire dial, which features a metallised depiction of Lord Ganesha. Rendered in pink gold with black and white varnish, the deity replaces the traditional astral star of the Excalibur model.

Beneath the art, the Calibre RD720SQ, a skeletonised automatic movement, powers the watch offering a 72-hour power reserve. There is a micro-rotor placed between 10 and 11 o’clock, engineered to reduce vibrations. A diamond-coated silicon escapement wheel and diamond-coated pallet stones enhance durability and efficiency of the timepiece. The balance wheel has been fine-tuned for maximum inertia, reducing sensitivity to shocks significantly.  The watch comes dressed in an interchangeable brown leather strap.

“This piece is deeply personal. It represents where we come from and how we embrace modernity while staying rooted in heritage. To see Lord Ganesha interpreted with such respect and flair by Roger Dubuis is extraordinary,” says Gaurav Bhatia, Co-founder & Director of Art of Time.

The Velvet Automatic

The Velvet Automatic, designed especially for women, is limited to 10 pieces. Encased in 36 mm of 18K pink gold, brilliant-cut diamonds adorn the bezel, flange, and lugs of the watch. The green mother-of-pearl dial, a colour rich with cultural significance in India, symbolises prosperity, growth, and grace. The watch features Roman numerals as hour markers, the numeral X is highlighted in green, a subtle nod to Art of Time’s 10th year. Powering the watch is the self-winding Calibre RD830, maintaining a slim profile. It’s finished with a green alligator strap.

“The Velvet is not just beautiful—it’s confident. It’s for those who see watches as an extension of their personal style and strength,” says Bharat Kapoor, Co-founder & Director of Art of Time.
