Blancpain introduces summer colours with Fifty Fathoms Tech-nicolors

Blancpain’s Fifty Fathoms Tech line gets interchangeable straps in two new colours, in the Fifty Fathoms Tech-nicolors
Blancpain updated its iconic diver watch, Fifty Fathoms, first introduced in 1953, in 2023 with the Fifty Fathoms Tech line, by launching Tech Gombessa, a 47 mm Grade 23 titanium case with an innovative 3-hour elapsed timing bezel. In 2025, the modern line gets a stylish update with the launch of Fifty Fathoms Tech-nicolors Ref. 5029 12B30 94A, making the tool watch an everyday accessory.

The update introduces a fully interchangeable strap system requiring no tools, allowing wearers to switch between styles effortlessly. Strap lengths, now, can also cater to both divers wearing wetsuits and enthusiasts wearing the watch on the wrist everyday. The straps are mounted on a discreet central lug, giving the illusion of a lug free case. The new strap colours are: crisp white and a bright orange – echoing both the central seconds hand and the ‘TECH’ logo on the dial.

This latest reference is housed in Grade 23 brushed titanium, a high-spec material rarely seen in watchmaking that’s prized for its biocompatibility and exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. The case measures 45 mm in diameter, with a helium escape valve for saturation diving and a 120-click unidirectional ceramic bezel, specifically engineered for enhanced grip and legibility underwater—even with gloved hands. The crown at 3 o’clock, and ensures a water resistance of up to 300 meters.

The watch features the absolute black dial

A striking feature of the tech line is the absolute black dial, retained in this reference, which absorbs up to 97% of light, offering contrast against the luminous block-shaped hour markers, ensuring optimal readability in the most challenging conditions, whether it’s a deep-sea dive or a low-light environment.

Powering the watch is the calibre 1315A automatic movement, beating at 4 Hz, offering a 120-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.
