Watches and Wonders 2026 Preview: Parmigiani Fleurier unveils a Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Steel Silver Verzasca

The blue-green shade of the latest watch is derived from the remote Verzasca Valley
Last year, Parmigiani Fleurier pleasantly surprised us with the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante Verzasca: This time, the relaxed shade of green was derived from the remote Verzasca Valley in Ticino and its natural beauty.

In 2026, Parmigiani once again embraced the subtle bluish-green hue, using it for its new Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Silver Verzasca (Ref. PFC931-1020023-400182) . The watch, housed in a 42 mm stainless steel case, combines a high-frequency, COSC-certified integrated chronograph movement with an exceptionally elegant design. As always, Parmigiani is targeting connoisseurs who appreciate a more understated aesthetic with this timepiece. This fusion of sophisticated technology and restrained design is typical of the brand's design strategy under CEO Guido Terreni.

High-frequency chronograph with integrated design

At the heart of the watch beats the automatic in-house caliber PF070, an integrated chronograph with column-wheel control. The movement is certified as a chronometer by the official Swiss testing institute COSC and operates at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, equivalent to 5 Hz. This comparatively high frequency for a mechanical watch inherently contributes to greater precision and simultaneously enables the measurement of fifths of a second. The power reserve is 65 hours. Through the sapphire crystal case back, one can admire the fine architecture and finishing of the caliber: openworked bridges with satin-finished surfaces and beveled edges. The skeletonized rotor, crafted from 22-karat rose gold, features alternating polished and sandblasted finishes.

Blue-green – like the Verzasca Valley
The subdials and rubber strap are rendered in the delicate blue-green hue characteristic of the Verzasca Valley, with its clear waters and the resulting light reflections. This colour harmonizes beautifully with the silver dial and the stainless steel case, featuring the knurled bezel typical of the Tonda PF line. To embellish the dial, Terreni and his team opted for hand-guilloché work, a pattern of small triangles. The French term for this technique is "clou triangulaire." This micro-relief creates different light reflections depending on the position of the wrist. The dial is completed by applied indices and skeletonized delta hands , both crafted from 18-karat gold and coated with black luminescent material.

Stainless steel case with brand-typical details
The 42mm case features alternating polished and satin-finished stainless steel surfaces. This creates a high-quality impression that underscores the structure and craftsmanship of the dial. The overall height is 12.9mm. The elongated, slightly curved chronograph pushers blend harmoniously into the case flank, while the screw-down crown contributes to water resistance up to 100 meters. Elements like these distinguish the Tonda PF Sport within the Parmigiani range, and from the Tonda PF and Toric , as an elegant model with a subtly sporty touch, without aspiring to be a tool watch.

Bracelet with technical multi-layer construction
The strap is made of Verzasca green rubber, but its construction is more complex than that of a classic rubber strap. A textile surface structure, a reinforcing intermediate layer, and an outer layer are complemented by a technical membrane that ensures stability and durability. This multi-layered construction is designed to enhance wearing comfort and guarantee a stable fit on the wrist.
