For Watches and Wonders this year, Hermès unveils the Hermès H08 Squelette, the Arceau Samarcande, the Slim d'Hermès Squelette Lune, and the extraordinary Pocket Watch Slim d'Hermès Roaaaaar. With this showcase, the brand presents three new models that no longer conceal mechanics, but rather deliberately highlight them. Gears, bridges, and lines are brought into sharp focus, transforming the movement into a kind of architectural stage.
Hermès H08 Squelette: Mechanics as architecture
The Hermès H08 remains true to its distinctive shape, which mediates between a circle and a square, and further develops this design. In the new Squelette version, the 39-millimeter case made of satin-finished titanium opens completely to reveal the movement.
At its heart lies the in-house caliber H1978S , whose skeletonized titanium structure creates a clear, almost graphic effect. The individual components are deliberately arranged so that lines and planes overlap, generating a sense of spatial depth. The result appears less technical and more constructive – almost like a miniature architectural model. The textured rubber strap with its woven look echoes this design language and underscores the watch's modern, functional character. Price: €20,000 each.
Arceau Samarcande: Haute Horlogerie with a poetic core
With the Arceau Samarcande, Hermès combines its watchmaking expertise with its own heritage. The horse, one of the Maison's central motifs, is integrated directly into the dial.
The 38-millimeter watch, available in white or rose gold, features a delicately crafted silhouette of a horse made of Saint-Louis crystal, revealing the movement beneath. Inside beats the newly developed automatic caliber H1927 , which is not only skeletonized but also equipped with a minute repeater.
The combination of acoustic complication and open design makes this watch one of the most technically sophisticated models in the collection. The sapphire crystal case back also reveals the repeater hammers and the finely decorated micro-rotor.
Slim d'Hermès Squelette Lune: reduction in the cosmos
The Slim d'Hermès Squelette Lune takes a different approach. It combines the typical design clarity of the Slim line with a poetic complication: the display of the moon phases for the northern and southern hemispheres.
Powered by the H1953 caliber , the dial opens to reveal the finely structured movement. Despite the skeletonization, the watch maintains a remarkably calm and balanced appearance. The displays are minimalist, and the proportions are precisely calibrated.
In the green and blue colour variations, the clock unfolds an additional visual depth, enhanced by the interplay of light and shadow within its open design. The mechanics recede into the background without losing their significance – they become part of a larger, almost cosmic concept of time.
Slim d'Hermès Pocket Roaaaaar!: an art object in tune with the times
With the Slim d'Hermès Pocket Roaaaaar!, Hermès launches an exceptional pocket watch that puts craftsmanship at the forefront. The lid features a lion in intricate wood marquetry, crafted from various precious woods.
Beneath this lies a Grand Feu enamel dial, while inside beats the flat automatic caliber H1950 . Limited to just three pieces per variant , the watch is conceived as an exclusive collector's item at the intersection of watchmaking and art.
