Longines introduces Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve

The watch features a beautiful light blue opaline dial
After the launch of the brand’s redesigned Master Collection, Longines now unveils the new Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve. Extending the Conquest collection, the watch is distinguished by its unique central power reserve display, a brand signature used exclusively by Longines. Two rotating discs at the centre display the power reserve, with a baton-shaped indicator that moves from 64 to 0.

Following the model introduced in 2024 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Conquest collection, the latest edition adds a fresh light blue opaline dial and a choice of either a bracelet or a grey leather strap, giving the historically inspired design a more contemporary character. The Conquest collection holds a special place in Longines’ history. Introduced in 1954, it became the first collection whose name was officially protected by the Swiss Federal Intellectual Property Office. Since then, it has embodied the brand’s ability to combine technical innovation with elegant design. The new Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve continues that tradition while reviving one of Longines’ most unusual historical complications.

A Rare Display Returns

The watch draws inspiration from the Longines Conquest reference 9028 introduced in 1959, which debuted a power reserve indication displayed at the center of the dial. Unlike conventional power reserve displays positioned at the edge of the dial or in combination with other displays, Longines developed a unique system employing two rotating discs beneath the hands. A slender baton-shaped indicator points to the remaining energy reserve on an outer scale graduated from 64 to 0 hours. As the watch is wound or worn, the disc rotates continuously, creating a dynamic visual effect while allowing the wearer to monitor the movement’s state of wind at a glance.
The new light blue opaline dial lends the watch a fresh appearance without compromising its vintage charm. Silvered applied indexes and faceted "skyscraper" hands filled with Superluminova ensure excellent legibility, while a color-coordinated trapezoidal date aperture positioned at 12 o’clock remains faithful to the historic design. The restrained color palette highlights the central power reserve display, which remains the focal point of the dial.

Heritage Styling Meets Modern Engineering

The Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve is housed in a 38mm stainless-steel case. Measuring 12.3mm thick, it alternates polished and satin-brushed surfaces. Its proportions closely echo those of its historical predecessor while remaining perfectly suited to contemporary tastes. A box-shaped sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective coating enhances the vintage aesthetic and provides a clear view of the dial, while a screw-down transparent case back reveals the movement within. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters.

Powering the watch is the exclusive Longines Caliber L896.5, a self-winding movement equipped with a silicon balance spring. Operating at 25,200 vibrations per hour, the movement offers enhanced resistance to magnetic fields and delivers an impressive power reserve of up to 72 hours. Longines backs the caliber with a five-year warranty. The Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve is available in two versions: reference L1.648.4.92.6 on a bracelet with an integrated micro-adjustment system.
