Exclusive Look: Chopard Adds New Models to the Alpine Eagle Collection

WatchTime India brings you an exclusive look into the new models added to the Chopard Alpine Eagle collection. Read on for all the information:

Today Chopard added three new models - XL Chrono, Large and Small to their sporty-chic Alpine Eagle collection. The new models like the collection itself is a modern reinterpretation of the St. Moritz watch that was Karl-Friedrich Scheufele's first watchmaking creation.

Here is all that you need to know about the three watches:

Alpine Eagle XL Chrono: A Top-Flight Chronograph

Crafted in a new 44mm case, the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono is available in three versions; Lucent Steel A223 with an Aletsch Blue or Pitch Black dial and a bi-material version combining Lucent Steel A223 and ethical rose gold with a Pitch Black dial.

This new model also marks the first time that Chopard has introduced a flyback chronograph to the Alpine Eagle collection with the Chopard 03.05-C mechanical movement powering the various versions. The automatic movement with a flyback chronograph function is a special engineering marvel that has four patents testifying its accuracy and user-friendliness. It clocks in a power reserve of 60 hours and is chronometer-certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

Apart from the regular Aletsch blue dial option, Chopard introduces a new colour for the dial – a Pitch Black dial. This particular colour is inspired by colours of the Alpine nature, the intense blackness of the mountain nights which was created by Co-President and creator of the collection, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele. The texture and sunburst pattern of the dial that evokes an eagle further enhances the overall look of the watch. Add to this the feather-shaped hands, the raised counters and a discreet tachymeter scale with a red 100, 160 and 240 graduations.

Each of the models in the collection is available in a tapering bracelet with wide links that have satin-brushed sides. From the case to the dial and the bracelet, the Alpine Eagle XL Chrono timepieces are made entirely in Chopard's watchmaking ateliers, the work of Artisans paying tribute to Nature.

Alpine Eagle Large: Precious and Ethical

The second release for 2020 is the Alpine Eagle Large that features the original design of the Alpine eagle collection but in a new 41mm size. The case and the integrated bracelet is crafted entirely in ethical 18-carat rose gold with two dial versions. The first is a textured brass Aletsch Blue dial that pays tribute to the largest Alpine glacier in Switzerland. The second is a Bernina Grey dial which also honours the eponymous mountain range stretching between Switzerland and Italy. This version also features a diamond-set bezel.

The watch is powered by the Chopard 01.01-C calibre that is endowed with a 60-hour power reserve and is chronometer-certified by the COSC.

Alpine Eagle Small: Pure and Radiant

Measuring in at 36mm, the new Alpine Eagle Small which until now included only seven references in Lucent Steel A223, ethical gold or bi-material interpretations, is now available in a new version in Lucent Steel A223. This timepiece features an Aletsch Blue dial that is lit up by diamond setting on the bezel that makes it suitable for both men and women. This timepiece like all Alpine Eagle watches is powered by the Chopard mechanical movement with automatic winding chronometer-certified by the COSC: the Chopard 09.01-C calibre, endowed with a 42-hour power reserve.
