Montblanc launches two new editions in its Star Legacy Line

The timepieces are inspired by a bird's eye view of the Mont Blanc Mountain.
The iconic Montblanc logo, created in 1913, is inspired by a bird’s eye view of the Mont Blanc Mountain with its six snow-covered glacier valleys. The logo, in turn served as inspiration for the brand’s very first Montblanc Star Legacy collection, launched in 1997. A line of carefully crafted dress watches, it now welcomes five new additions across two sub-line - Blue Exploding Star and Grey Capsule - inspired by the parent collection and different viewpoints of the mountains respectively.

Aesthetically, the Star Legacy Line takes its design cues from the Minerva pocket watches that were made during the early 20th century. This includes details like round, polished, pebble-shaped cases, onion-shaped crowns with the brand’s emblem on it, along with rose gold-coated and lume-applied sword-shaped hands.

Montblanc Star Legacy Blue Exploding Star

The two new limited-editions of bold blue dials under this sublime include the Automatic Date and Chronograph Day & Date. The 43mm timepieces have an exploding star guilloché motif dial featuring Roman hour markers. The dial of Ref. 130956 features only a date window at 3 o’clock and powered by the calibre MB24.17, boasting about 38 hours of power reserve. The Ref 130973 has chronographs counters, and a day-date aperture at 3 o’clock, and is powered by Calibre MB 25.07, and has about 48 hours of power reserve. The blue interchangeable Sfumato calf leather strap with alligator print or stainless steel triple-folding clasp flanks the cases. Both the models are limited to 800 pieces only and are water-resistant up to 50 metres.

Montblanc Star Legacy Grey Capsule
Picking up the colour of the cold exposed grey rocky south face of the mountain, the brand has unveiled the three new centrally placed grey glacial patterned dial timepieces: The Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic, the Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase and the Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph. The similarity in all three timepieces are their stainless steel polished cases, Montblanc emblem on their seconds hand, the railway minute trackers, rose gold coated leaf-shaped hands and Arabic numerals, inspired by the Minerva pocket watches. And of course the glacial-pattern in the centre of the dial, which the brand has had great success with since the launch of the Iced Sea line last year. The Ref. 130958, is a 39mm timepiece, featuring a date window at 6 o’clock. Ref. 130959 is a 42mm is a moonphase watch, featuring the complication at 6 o’clock with a rose gold-coated moon and stars on a blue background that are surrounded by a circular date indicator. The 42mm Ref. 130960, the chronograph, features a date aperture at 3 o’clock, and small seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. Powering the timepieces are Calibre MB 24.17 (Ref. 130958) , MB 24.31 (Ref. 130959), MB 25.13 (Ref. 130960) offering the different power reserves.
The three new watches in Montblanc Stay Legacy Grey Capsule collection are limited to 1786 pieces only, and are water resistant to 50 metres, and come with interchangeable Sfumato grey calf leather strap with alligator print and stainless steel triple-folding clasp.
