After the internet-breaking collab with Swatch for the Royal Pop, Audemars Piguet is back with another collab, this time not with a watchmaker but with a design label. The Swiss watchmaker partnered with Tokyo-based luxury streetwear and jewellery design label Ambush for Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon.

Ambush was founded in 2008 by Korean-American designer Yoon Ahn and her husband, Korean-Japanese hip-hop artist and music producer Verbal (Young Kee Yu). The brand is globally known for bridging the gap between high fashion, Tokyo subcultures, and industrial-inspired design and that reflects in this collaboration too. The 38.5 mm watch is crafted from titanium with varying sandblasted, satin‑brushed and polished surfaces highlighting the case’s sculptural geometry. The octagonal bezel exposes 8 screws, emblematic of Royal Oak design language, with the lug-free design. A black ceramic crown with a titanium chip sits at 3 o’clock and makes the watch water resistant to 20 metres.

The dial is partly skeletonised and features a black aventurine glass with blackened 18-karat white gold hands filled with grey luminescent material with a black inner bezel. There is a flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock with red bridges adding a pop of colour. The watch is powered by the new Calibre 2982, developed specifically for this limited edition (of 150 timepieces) collaboration. From a clear caseback, the partly openworked movement finished with hand‑decorations can be admired.
The watch comes dressed in interchangeable black rubber strap with “micro-mosaic” pattern and quilted inner imprint, fitted with a titanium AP folding clasp, along with an optional red rubber strap. A grey variation strap is also available on demand. The price of the watch is available on request.
