Founded in 1992, Nomos Glashütte introduced the Tetra as part of its inaugural collection alongside the iconic Tangente, classic Ludwig, and minimalist Orion. Over the years, the square-shaped timepiece has evolved into one of the brand’s defining models, representing Nomos’ approach to geometric design with clean lines, harmonious proportions, and a distinctive Bauhaus-inspired aesthetic.

Now, the brand introduces two new additions to the collection: the Tetra 27 White and Tetra 27 Duo. Both models feature a compact square case measuring 27.5mm by 27.5mm and just 6.1mm thick. They combine the characteristic Tetra design with refined, minimalist dials and hand-wound manufacture movements developed and produced in Glashütte.

A Signature Design in a Smaller Format
With its reduced dimensions, the new Tetra 27 is among the smallest watches currently offered by the brand. The compact case emphasizes the elegant character of the design while preserving the collection’s distinctive identity. The square stainless-steel case features a narrow bezel and the characteristic double-stepped lugs that have been part of the Tetra’s design since its introduction. Inspired by the clarity of Bauhaus and German Werkbund design, along with subtle Art Deco influences, the watch reflects Nomos’s approach to creating contemporary timepieces through simplicity, precision, and thoughtful proportions.

 

Two Interpretations of Minimalism

Although the two new models share the same case dimensions, each follows its own design philosophy. The Tetra 27 Duo represents the purest expression of restraint. Its white, silver-plated two-tone dial features two heat-blued hands indicating the hours and minutes and forgoes a seconds display. A square central section and surrounding minute track reinforce the geometric relationship between the dial and case, creating a particularly calm and harmonious appearance. The Tetra 27 White offers a more traditional interpretation. Its white, silver-plated dial features three heat-blued hands and a classic small-seconds display at 6 o’clock.

 

Hand-Wound Manufacture Calibers from Glashütte
Both newcomers are powered by hand-wound movements developed and produced by Nomos in Glashütte. The Tetra 27 Duo is equipped with the DUW 4001 Duo, a movement created specifically for two-hand watches. Featuring the proprietary Nomos Swing System, it provides a power reserve of approximately 53 hours and combines technical sophistication with the slim architecture characteristic of the manufacture. The Tetra 27 White is powered by the classic DUW 4001. In typical Nomos fashion, the caliber features traditional Glashütte finishing and details, including a three-quarter plate, Glashütte ribbing, blued screws, and a radial sunburst pattern on the mainspring barrel.

 

Both versions come fitted with the brand’s characteristic Horween Shell Cordovan leather strap, valued for its durability and smooth texture. The refined leather complements the minimalist character of the watches and reinforces their suitability as elegant everyday companions.

The two models are available with either a sapphire crystal caseback or a closed caseback. The Tetra 27 White is priced at approximately ₹2.28 lakh with a sapphire crystal caseback and ₹2.56 lakh with a closed caseback, while the Tetra 27 Duo is priced at approximately ₹2.28 lakh or ₹1.99 lakh, respectively.
