Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled the latest Reverso Tribute Chronograph, crafted from solid 18K red gold, adding a luxurious sports watch to the collection. The timepiece is a limited edition of 250 pieces.
A sports icon reissued
First released in 1931, the Reverso was developed for the polo field and was soon considered a masterpiece of Art Deco design. With its reversible case, it was originally designed as a protective device for players, but its elegant and functional design quickly won the hearts of watch lovers around the world. Today, the Reverso is a design icon and a classic of the 20th century. It has been continuously developed over the decades and sets standards in the interplay of design and functionality - a legacy also reflected in the new Tribute Chronograph.
Homage to Chronograph Architecture
The Reverso Tribute Chronograph pays tribute to the 1996 chronograph movement with an updated interpretation of the Calibre 860. This movement displays the time on both the front and back, revealing on the skeletonised back dial a chronograph mechanism that is both technically and aesthetically impressive. The complexity of the Calibre 860, developed entirely in the Jaeger-LeCoultre manufacture, is complemented by the use of the finest materials and finishing techniques. Hand-cut edges and Geneva stripes adorn the bridges, which are made of solid red gold.
Red gold elegance in the new dial design
At the heart of the new design is an impressive front dial, enhanced with elegant engraving: fine, horizontal lines in red gold extend across the entire width, underlining the clean geometric lines of the case. This precise engraving highlights the characteristic elements of the Reverso Tribute, such as trapezoidal indices, dauphine hands and the Chemin-de-Fer minute ring. The black minute ring creates a lively contrast to the warm tone of the red gold and gives the watch a fascinating depth.
A skeleton masterpiece on the back
On the back, the skeletonised dial shows the technically complex chronograph mechanism. With black counters and minute rings that ensure clear readability, combined with blue chronograph hands and blued screws, a harmonious balance of functionality and luxurious design is created. The polished red gold indices seem to float above the dial and reinforce the aesthetic sophistication of the timepiece.
Caliber 860 – A reinterpretation of a masterpiece
The Reverso Tribute Chronograph is powered by the Caliber 860, which features a hand-wound mechanism with a retrograde 30-minute counter and central seconds. The movement's special architecture ensures that the hands for the time display on both sides of the watch move clockwise and display the time precisely. With a power reserve of 52 hours, the Caliber 860 combines the chronograph's high energy requirements with the dual time display while remaining just 11.14 mm high.
Stylish Fagliano bracelets for maximum comfort
A brown calfskin strap, made by the Argentinian Casa Fagliano, recalls the Reverso's polo history and gives the timepiece a distinctive touch. Another black alligator leather strap offers a classic alternative - both straps feature the Presto quick-change system, which makes changing straps effortless.
With its impressive combination of technology, tradition and innovation, the Reverso Tribute Chronograph embodies the quintessence of the manufacturer. The exclusive watch costs INR 63,75,000 (approx.)
