LVMH Watch Week 2026: TAG Heuer brings back the Seafarer

Along with a brand new Carrera Chronograph Seafarer, TAG Heuer introduces a new size in Carrera Chronograph and a rattrapante complication in a new Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph
TAG Heuer’s LVMH Watch Week offerings include: A brand new Carrera Chronograph Seafarer inspired by the Seafarer tide watch of 1949. Along with this, TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph debuts in a new size of 41 mm along with a heritage-inspired 39 mm model and an avant-garde  TAG Heuer Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph debuting a rattrapante complication.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer

With the new Carrera Chronograph Seafarer, TAG Heuer revives its maritime roots, reintroducing a historic tide-indication complication within the modern Carrera Glassbox design. Unveiled during this year's LVMH Watch Week in Milan, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer marks another step in the brand’s renewed dialogue with the world of sailing. Following the successful revival of the Skipper in 2023, TAG Heuer now turns to an even earlier chapter of its nautical history: the Seafarer tide watch of 1949. Seventy-seven years after the tide indicator first appeared on the Heuer Solunar, this distinctive complication returns reengineered, refined, and housed within the elegant and highly legible Carrera Glassbox design introduced in 2023.

The original Seafarer story is deeply rooted in American sporting culture. Commissioned by Abercrombie & Fitch president Walter Haynes, the tide indication was designed to display high and low tides for a specific location, making it an instrument tool for sailors and outdoorsmen. Young Jack Heuer was closely involved in refining the mechanism, even consulting his physics teacher to improve the gear ratios for greater accuracy. That spirit of functional ingenuity now finds modern expression in the Carrera Chronograph Seafarer.

At the heart of the watch lies the new in-house TH20-04 automatic movement, developed specifically to integrate the tide indicator. Set via a dedicated “TIDE” pusher at nine o’clock, the rotating tide disc completes one full rotation every 29.53125 days, accurately tracking lunar cycles and indicating optimal tidal conditions. Combined with chronograph functionality and the Carrera’s hallmark clarity, the result is a surprisingly elegant tool watch, equally at home on deck or ashore.

Visually, the Carrera Chronograph Seafarer balances heritage cues with contemporary refinement. The champagne opalin dial is framed by the signature Glassbox construction, with a domed sapphire crystal and curved dial flange ensuring exceptional readability. Accents in Intrepid Teal, named after the 1967 America’s Cup–winning yacht that inspired Jack Heuer’s original Skipper, add vivid contrast, particularly on the beautifully executed tide indicator and the snailed chronograph-minute counter. Gold-plated indexes and hands, along with the triangular marker at 12 o’clock, reinforce the Carrera lineage. There is also a date indication aboard, integrated into the small seconds sub dial at 6 o'clock.

The sophisticated in-house Caliber TH20-04 automatic movement is distinguished by the brand's the modern-day cutting edge hallmarks, such as a column wheel and vertical clutch for smooth chronograph operation and an 80-hour power reserve. The watch is housed in a 42mm steel case with a combination of fine-brushed and polished surfaces, which is water resistant to 100 meters. It is fitted with a seven-row “beads of rice” bracelet with a folding clasp and double safety push-buttons, and is additionally supplied with a beige textile strap inspired by traditional boat rigging.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph

LVMH Watch Week 2026 marks another important chapter for TAG Heuer. With the debut of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph in a new 41mm size, the Swiss manufacture reinforces its 2026 theme, "Master of Chronograph," while extending one of its most emblematic designs. Rooted in motorsport heritage yet conceived for contemporary enthusiasts, the new Carrera Chronograph brings fresh dimensional presence to the glassbox family first reintroduced in 2023 for the model’s 60th anniversary.

Since its creation in 1963 by Jack Heuer, the Carrera has stood for clarity, balance, and functional elegance. Designed for professional racing drivers and named after the legendary Carrera Panamericana road race, the chronograph distilled the demands of high-speed timing into a clean, legible wristwatch. Over the decades, the Carrera evolved into a symbol of performance and style, equally at home on the racetrack and in daily life. The return of the glassbox design in 2023 paid tribute to this legacy, combining a curved sapphire crystal with a flowing dial flange and modern movement technology. The new 41mm Carrera Chronograph builds on that foundation, complementing the heritage-inspired 39mm version with a bolder, more contemporary stance.

The defining feature of the new Carrera Chronograph is its sculptural glassbox sapphire crystal, which curves seamlessly over the three-dimensional dial and flange. This architecture enhances depth, legibility, and light play, while the date-free layout and monochromatic counters keep the focus squarely on the chronograph indications. TAG Heuer introduces the new size in three distinct executions. The blue-dial version emphasizes elegance with a circular-brushed surface, azurage counters, and rhodium-plated hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova. The teal green variant brings a modern signature color to the collection. Completing the trio, the black-dial model adds red accents on the chronograph hands and outer ring, channeling the adrenaline and precision of motorsport. All three references are fitted with TAG Heuer’s seven-row bracelet.

Powering the new Carrera Chronograph is the in-house Caliber TH20-01, visible through the sapphire case back. The automatic manufacture movement features a column wheel and vertical clutch for precise chronograph operation, bidirectional winding, and a power reserve of 80 hours.

TAG Heuer Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph

TAG Heuer begins a significant chapter in its avant-garde horlogerie lineup with the introduction of the Carrera Split-Seconds Chronograph (Ref. CDD2180.FT8120), marking the first time a rattrapante complication has been integrated into the Carrera collection. The watch is housed in a newly developed 42 mm grade-5 titanium case, designed and manufactured in-house, retaining the Carrera’s signature peaked lugs and emphasis on legibility with red highlights on the dial, while introducing refined, elongated chronograph pushers (at 2 and 4 o’clock) flanking the crown at 3 o’clock and an integrated pusher at 9 o’clock to control the split-seconds function. The glassbox sapphire crystal is further refined to sit seamlessly within the case, creating a magnifying effect over the dial and rehaut, while a curved flange with tachymeter scale follows the profile of the crystal to reduce parallax error. A translucent sapphire dial reveals the movement’s finishing, with subsidiary dials individually constructed from the same material as the main dial to enhance depth and transparency. The sapphire caseback is engineered to provide an unobstructed view of the Calibre TH81-01 from multiple angles, creating the impression of a floating movement. Operating at 5 Hz and offering a 65-hour power reserve, the grade-5 titanium Calibre TH81-01 features a full split-seconds chronograph architecture and is entirely hand-finished using more than ten techniques, including black-polished screws and hand-bevelled bridges. The hand-finished oscillating weight, shaped as the TAG Heuer shield, features fine-brushed surfaces and a miniature gradient painting along its periphery. The watch is priced at Rs 12 Crore (approx.).
