Seiko introduces two new Prospex Marinemaster and three King Seiko VANAC

The new Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Heritage Diver’s Watch JAMSTEC Limited Edition marks the highlight of the launch
Seiko is celebrating its 145th anniversary this year with significant moves worldwide. Closer home, brand has recently opened its flagship boutique in Mumbai and Bengaluru, which is also the brand’s largest flagship boutique in the country. And continuing the celebration, the Maison expands its Prospex Marinemaster collection, with two new models and King Seiko VANAC with three titanium iterations.

Prospex Marinemaster

Seiko’s flagship line of diver’s watches expands with two new iterations, measuring 42.6 mm and crafted in stainless steel. Since these are diver’s models, the watches are water resistant up to 300 metres. The first reference is Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Heritage Diver’s Watch (Ref. HBF001). It features a black bezel with minute marking, dual-curved sapphire crystal topping the black dial which displays LumiBrite coated hands and hour markers. The date window is located at 3.

The other model is Seiko Prospex Marinemaster 1968 Heritage Diver’s Watch JAMSTEC Limited Edition (Ref. HBF002), a 1000-piece limited edition model, made in collaboration with Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), an ocean-research institution. The timepiece also pays tribute to the longstanding association between and JAMSTEC.

The dial Ref. HBF002 features a new textured dial which reflects a trail made by an icebreaker as it passes through sea ice. There is light blue gradient on both sides and as a deeper blue in the centre. The white flange with blue markers further complements the dial. Moreover, there are hands and hour markers coated with Lumibrite, and a date window at 3 o’clock. Turn the watch over to see a closed caseback marked with “JAMSTEC LIMITED EDITION” and an individual number out of 1,000.

Both watches are offered on a stainless steel bracelet with super-hard coating and three-fold clasp with push button release with solid & slide adjuster.

Ref. HBF001 is priced at Rs. 4,11,000 (approx.) while Ref. HBF002  is priced at Rs. 4,43,000 (approx.)

King Seiko VANAC

Black (Ref. HKF003)

Last year Seiko reintroduced the King Seiko VANAC collection after almost 50 years and put the focus on 70s design with four new timepieces. Now the brand expands the same line, but with the lightness of titanium with the introduction of three new iterations.

 Gray (Ref. HKF002)

Purple (Ref. HKF001)

The watches come in three dial variations - Purple (Ref. HKF001), Gray (Ref. HKF002), and Black (Ref. HKF003). These titanium models are 40% lighter than the earlier released stainless steel models. The watches feature the same 41 mm silhouettes and Calibre 8L45. However, there is a slight change in the dial design. Now, apart from just horizontal lines, the dial also shows lines radiating from the center, resonating Tokyo’s highways toward its expansive skyline.
