Master watchmaker Dominique Renaud launches his eponymous watch brand

The brand has released three iterations of its first model - Pulse60
Dominique Renaud, legendary French master watchmaker and "movement architect" has been a central figure in Swiss high-end watchmaking for over 40 years. He is the co-founder of the complications workshop Renaud & Papi, established in 1986 with Giulio Papi – the firm became the "engine room" for the watchmaking world, designing complex movements for brands like Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, IWC, and A. Lange & Söhne. Now, in 2026, Renaud has launched his eponymous watch brand with the Pulse60.

Following the principle of ‘form follows function’, the brand has introduced three models of the Pulse60, crafted in grade 5 Titanium. There is a black dial, a grey dial, and a pink gold and grade 5 titanium dual-tone model. Renaud, known for having pushed the limits of the regulating organ with a very high-frequency, employs an regulation system of 1 Hz with an oversized (20 mm) balance wheel beating at high-amplitude – 7,200 vibrations per hour, once every second. At the heart of the Pulse60 is a completely new movement, the Dominique Renaud BUA2024, offering a power reserve of about four days.

The aesthetics of the watch are clean and minimal. There is no bezel and lugs. The 40 mm x 44 mm case is topped with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, giving the watch a fluid form without any edges. In turn, the interchangeable rubber strap seamlessly blends into the case. The case features a circular satin-brushed top evoking pieces from the 1970s, a period dear to Dominique Renaud, as well as polished flanks that create a sharply contrasting profile.

The Pulse60 has a clean and easy-to-read layout. At 12 o’clock, it shows the hours and minutes, while a seconds counter sits at 9 o’clock. Because the movement runs at a low 1 Hz frequency, the seconds hand moves in a distinct half-second “tick,” creating a more natural rhythm. One of its standout features is a patented regulating system placed outside the balance wheel. This design keeps the large, slow-moving balance wheel fully visible, so you can clearly enjoy its motion without anything blocking the view. At 3 o’clock, there’s also a torque indicator, which shows how much power is left in the watch. It reads this information directly from the barrel—a concept that Dominique Renaud first explored during his time at Renaud & Papi.

Turning the watch over, the open caseback reveals a simple and elegant design built around basic shapes like circles and straight lines. The crown wheel and ratchet sit at the top, while the lower section highlights the openworked escapement and a unique double roller system. The Pulse60 will be available from April 2026 at authorized retailers. It is priced at INR 58,00,000 (approx., excluding taxes) for the titanium version, and INR 69,86,514 (approx., excluding taxes) for the pink gold and titanium version.
