Introduced in 2019, the BR-05 collection is the brand’s integrated-bracelet sports watch line. Recently, Bell & Ross introduced the Grey Mirror Steel model, and now the brand has expanded the line with the new BR-05 Blue Diamond Eagle 36 mm (Ref. BR05A-S-EA-ST/SST), a watch that displays the Aquila constellation.
The latest timepiece is a compact addition to its urban collection that combines the brand’s pilot instrument-inspired design language with decorative watchmaking techniques. The model translates the BR-05’s architectural case into a 36 mm format while introducing a dial concept centered on the Aquila constellation, rendered through a combination of aventurine glass and diamond setting.
The dial is constructed from a brass base topped with a precisely cut aventurine glass plate, whose metallic inclusions create a star-like effect against a deep blue background. Within this setting, seven diamonds trace the principal stars of the Aquila constellation, including Altair, its brightest point, forming the outline of the eagle in flight. A total of 18 diamonds are used: twelve replace the traditional hour markers, while the remaining stones complete the constellation and the eagle motif. The positioning requires micron-level drilling and careful setting to avoid stress on the fragile aventurine surface, underscoring the technical demands of combining hardstone dials with gem-setting.
The BR-05’s defining ‘round in a square’ architecture is retained, here executed in satin-finished and polished stainless steel. Measuring 36 mm in diameter and 8.7 mm in height, the case integrates a screw-down crown with protective guards and features a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
The case back is engraved with the Aquila constellation, reinforcing the thematic link to the dial. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters. The watch, which is driven by the Sellita-based automatic caliber BR-CAL.329 with a power reserve of approximately 54 hours, is fitted with an integrated steel bracelet with a folding clasp, consistent with the BR-05’s urban, streamlined design.
