Audemars Piguet announces its latest technological feat – the world's thinnest self-winding perpetual calendar. Presenting the 6.3 mm-high Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin.
Housing a movement just 2.89 mm thick, the new Royal Oak also adds two patents to its name – the integration of the end-of-the-month cam with the date wheel and the combination of the month cam with the month wheel. Having merged the three levels of the perpetual calendar functions into one has also resulted in the redesigning of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar dial. The day, date and month subdials have been enlarged, while the night and day indication at 8 o'clock has been added in symmetry to the leap year indication at 4 o'clock.
Encased in a combination of titanium and 950 platinum, which is followed throughout the bracelet, the Royal Oak Selfwinding Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin comes equipped with the Calibre 5133 and houses a power reserve of 40 hours.
