So before further adieu, here are the 2020 Novelies released by Panerai that caught our eye:

Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa GMT – 44mm

Offering a dual time zone function that is strongly inspired by the Challenger of Record of the 36th America's Cup is this authentic yet contemporary Panerai Luminor Luna Rossa GMT. Panerai and Luna Rossa have for a long time shared a common mission to perfect visionary tools that are destined to change the game. With this new launch, both strive to renew this mission with the PAM 1036. The timepiece features aesthetics that speak volume of the unity between tPanerai and the team that first launched the challenge ti the Defender of the 36th America Cup whose final act will be expected to take place in Auckland, New Zealand in 2012.

The new and technically astounding 2020 Luminor Luna Rossa GMT incorporates cutting-edge materials with a titanium case that has been specially coated with a carbon-based DLC that gives it an increased edge in wear resistance. The watch reaffirms its role as the Official Watch of the 36th America's Cup with a personalised inscription on the dial and an intricate engraving on the caseback. One of the major highlights of this new timepiece is the dial which is covered in a thin layer of technical fabric that is taken from the sailing equipment of the AC75 monohull of Luna Rossa.

Working within the watch is the Caliber P.9010/GMT movement that has been completely manufactured in-house at the Panerai manufacture in Neuchâtel. Clocking in a power reserve of 3 days, the movement offers a GMT function that is instrumental for synchronising with the time zone of Luna Rossa as it is approaching to the 36th America's Cup. Additionally, the watch is strapped to a Ponte Vecchio calfskin strap with an additional black rubber strap and comes packed in a box that is wrapped in technical sail fabric with the logo of Panerai and Luna Rosso present. Also enclosed is a certificate that attests to the authenticity of the technical material from Luna Rosso that is used on the coating of the dial mentioned above.

Panerai Luminor Marina “70 Years of Luminor” Collection (PAM 117,118,119)

Available in Titanium, Fibratech and CarbotechTM, Panerai launches a trio of masterful timepieces that pay tribute to the 70thanniversary of the luminous material Luminor launched in January 1950. This trio of Luminor Marina models celebrate the patented Luminor material by playing with it in such a creative way that could only be achieved by a brand like Panerai.

While the three watches share a lot of design aesthetics and technical specification, they also each have something new to offer. Talking about its common features include a 44mm case size in a cushion shape, an oversized locking guard with a sloped bezel, the in-house P.9010 movement working within, a whopping 70-year warranty and all limited to just 270 pieces worldwide. One of the major similarities between the three watches is the amount of Lume present on each timepiece. Each of them features the latest version of Super-LumiNova called “XI” which, according to the brand, provides a higher degree of luminosity as well as persisting for a longer period of time. Additionally, Panerai takes this lume business to new heights by “breaking borders” and including it in the stitchings on the strap, the crown, the crown protecting bridge and its lever. Fascinating, isn't it?

Despite the common features, what makes all of the three watches unique is the case that it is made of. The PAM 117 uses titanium as its case material, the PAM 118 is made of the signature Carbotech material and the PAM 119 uses an opaque, uneven textured material called Fibratech that is basically a fusion of basalt rock and minerals additive. All three watches are strapped to a Sportech strap with luminescent stitching, a velcro closure and titanium ring in black or blue variations (depending on the model itself).

Panerai Luminor Marina Goldtech

Apart from the three Luminor Marina timepieces mentioned above which are sporty in all its appeal, Panerai also launched a dressy timepiece – the Luminor Marina Goldtech – crafted in a 44mm red gold case. Derived from an extraordinary formula perfected by the Panerai Laboratorio di Idee and characterised by a high percentage of copper (24%) combined with platinum (0.4%), the material offers an intense and unique tone unlike any precious metal seen before. Dynamic in character and beautiful in its aesthetics, the Luminor Marina Goldtech amplifies the potential of gold material with brushed and polished surfaces. Further accentuating the “goldness” of the watch is its aesthetic deep blue sandwich dial with satiné soleil decoration.

Powered by the mechanical performance of the Caliber P.9010 automatic movement that clocks in a power reserve of 3 days, the Luminor Marina Goldtech offers hours, minutes, small seconds and a date function. Strapped to a blue alligator leather strap with beige stitching, the Luminor Marina Goldtech is set to be permanent member of the collection which is always welcome!

Panerai Luminor Marina DMLS

Committed to the theme of reinforcing it high-tech materials field, Panerai launches the Luminor Marina DMLS crafted in Titanium. Direct Metal Laser Sintering (or DMLS) is a futuristic 3D printing process by which the case material titanium powder is sintered by a high power fiber optic laser which then takes a solid shape that grows 30 microns at a time. This is a one-of-a-kind process that creates a hallow cavity within. This DMLS titanium is then mixed with Carbotech which resides on the bezel and crown of the case giving us a unique and openly unconventional aesthetic dimension for the case. Further adding to the smooth look of the case is the unpolished anthracite dial with tone-on- tone SuperLumiNova indexes and numbers.

A monochromatic marvel, the 2020 Panerai Luminor Marina DMLS is powered by the in-house P.9010 Caliber and clocks in a power reserve of 3 days. The watch is fitted to a black Panerai Sportech strap with anthracite stitching that further enhances the monochromatic look of the watch.

Panerai Submersible Ecopangea Tourbillon GMT 50mm Mike Horn Edition

One of the most outstanding and avant-garde timepiece of the 2020 novelties is the Submersible Ecopangea Tourbillon GMT 50mm Mike Horn Edition. A special edition available in only 5 pieces, the timepiece is a tool for daring pioneers who will not wear this the watch but will get an opportunity to live a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the Artic with explorer and brand ambassador Mike Horn.

This 50mm magnum opus is offered in a skeletonised titanium dial showcasing the hand wound caliber P.2005/T tourbillon movement developed in-house at Panerai's Neuchâtel factory. The skeletonised movement offers a power reserve of 6 days and a 30-second tourbillon that rotates along a perpendicular axis. Additionally the watch offers a GMT function, a running small seconds sub dial and an AM/PM indicator.

Composed of recycled metal from the 35-meter drive shaft of the Pangea – Mike Horn's sailing ship, the timepiece reiterates the brand's commitment to conservation and recycling culture. Water resistant to 300 meters, the new Submersible EcoPangea Tourbillon GMT 50mm Mike Horn edition is available in a black rubber strap and an additional black strap made of recycled PET material.

Panerai Luminor Marina Fibratech 44mm

Like the Luminor Marina timepieces mentioned above, the Luminor Marina Fibratech (PAM 01663) is crafted from a new high-tech composite based on basalt fibre. Defying the known limits of high-tech materials, Fibrotech is a special element that has been used in wacthes for the very first time. This material is obtained with natural and eco-sustainable row fibres that has remarkable physical and mechanical properties which includes being 60% lighter than steel, resilient and highly resistant to corrosions. Normally used in the aerospace industry, Fibrotech is made from unidirectional mineral fibres produced by the fusion of basalt rock. These are then binded with polymers and superimposed to create Fibratech.

As one of the first watches in Panerai upcoming new generation of Fibratech watches, the Luminor Marina Fibratech is an eye-catching watch. Offerring a matt grey appearance that is impossible to replicate, the Fibratech case is crafted in a 44m case set with a Carbotech bezel, crown and crown bridge lever. The blue sandwich dial with a graded effect works perfectly against the Fibratech case and the green luminescence Super-LumiNova filled Arabic numerals and hour markers. Like the rest of the new Luminor Marina collection, the watch is powered by the in-house P.9010 caliber which clocks in a power reserve of 3 days. Fitted to a blue Panerai Sportech waterproof strap and an additional blue rubber strap, the Panerai Luminor Marina Fibratech is a must have for any sporting enthusiast.
