Geneva Watch Days 2024: Girard Perregaux adds two new tourbillons to its Bridges line

The latest La Esmeralda Tourbillon ‘A Secret’ Eternity Edition Honey and the Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges joins the brand’s Bridges collection
The Bridges collection by Girard Perregaux pays tribute to the brand’s rich heritage and craftsmanship. At the Geneva Watch Days 2024, the brand strengthened the line with two new tourbillons - the La Esmeralda Tourbillon ‘A Secret’ Eternity Edition Honey (Ref. 99274-52-3423-5CC), an 18-piece limited edition and the Tourbillon with Three Flying Bridges (Ref. 99296-52-3434-5CC), which draws inspiration from the  pocket watch introduced in 1889.

Crafted in rich honey tones and pink gold, the 43mm timepiece masterfully plays with light. Paying tribute to the 1889 released pocket watches, the case, lugs, bezel, and buckle of the watch are finished with intricate engravings. Its hand-guilloché dial features honey-coloured enamel with a sunray motif and is incorporated with the brand's signature arrows and bridges, attached with the tourbillon at 6 o’clock, with small seconds, and pink gold dauphine hands.
The closed caseback is decorated with three galloping horses, and opening it reveals the automatic movement GP09600, equipped with that drives the watches with a power reserve of about 50 hours. This is an 18-piece limited edition watch and it comes on a hand-stitched brown calfskin strap with an alligator lining. Additionally, the timepiece is also offered with a complementary black alligator strap.

Encased in a 44mm pink gold case, the timepiece entails a unique dial drawing inspiration from the brand’s famous pocket watch of 1889. The dial of the latest reference features a conventional mainplate and the floating bridges, which are held by openworked plinths attached to the inner case. The bridges help in supporting the gear train, barrel, and tourbillon, as well as provide the essential structural integrity for the remainder of the movement.

Further on the dial, there is a tourbillon at 6 o’clock, pink gold crafted hour markers and partially skeletonized, ‘dauphine’ type hands coated a luminescent material that glows blue. One can see the automatic movement calibre GP09400-1273 powering the watch from the transparent sapphire crystal caseback. The watch boasts a power reserve of about 60 hours. Complementing the watch is a black rubber strap with a fabric effect. Also, a complementary black alligator strap with golden effect is offered with the timepiece.
