Frederique Constant unveils Manufacture Slimline Perpetual Calendar

The new reference is designed by British watchmaker Peter Speake and is a limited edition model of only 135 pieces.
The ongoing friendship between the Geneva-based manufacturer Frederique Constant and British watchmaker Peter Speake has resulted in a new timepiece - the Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture (Ref. FC-775PS4S6). The partnership between the two has also created Naked Watchmaker x Frederique Constant Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture in 2023, which was limited to 99 pieces. The new haute-horlogerie timepiece comes in a steel case measuring 42mm x 12.05mm.
Thanks to a bold open-work design, parts of the technical prowess of the genuine FC-775 self-winding caliber can be viewed on the dial side. Furthermore, the various indications of the perpetual calendar – day of the week, date, leap year and moon phase – are staged in a striking, three dimensional architecture, with the sub dials rising above the base. The hour and minute hands as well as the hands moving above the sub dials are also skeletonized in order to keep with the overall open-worked appeal.

The Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture Designed by Peter Speake adopts the same minimalist approach when it comes to colors: just two shades have been used, white and matte anthracite gray plus a dash of red at the tips to facilitate readability.

The movement, meanwhile, bears all the hallmarks of the Frederique Constant Manufacture. Each component boasts its own lined finish; the gears of the perpetual calendar feature a circular satin finish and blued screws in the best traditions of fine Geneva watchmaking. The transparent case back reveals the open-work oscillating weight characteristic of the brand’s manufacture movements. In a rare move for Frederique Constant, the partially skeletonized rotor has also been colored blue, echoing the blued screws.

The Frederique Constant Slimline Perpetual Calendar Manufacture Designed by Peter Speake is attached to a gray nylon strap and will be available at the Citizen Flagship Store New York and select Frederique Constant retailers from March 24 with a price tag of $11,995.
