Citizen is expanding its Tsyuosa collection with new colour-focused models, led by its first collaboration with French creative studio seconde/seconde/, founded by Romaric André. Known for reinterpreting watches with wit, André brings a clear concept to the Tsyuosa platform. Four additional sporty Tsyuosa models are also being released simultaneously.

Tsyosa means ‘power’ and ‘strength’ in Japanese, and that serves as the inspiration for this fun collaboration. At first look, eyes go straight to the pixelated minutes hand, designed to look like a katana – a traditional Japanese, single-edged, curved sword. In a subtle detail, several hour markers appear sliced where the katana passes. Encased in a 40 mm stainless steel case, the dial is blue, matching the hilt of the sword, keeping the composition cohesive. There is a magnified date window at 3 o’clock. It is powered by the Cal. 8210, delivering a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound. The movement is equipped with a stop-second function.

The transparent case back carries a printed message: “Being smaller has never stopped Minutes from slicing Hours into pieces.” It comes paired with a three-link metal bracelet, on the clasp of which are engraved slashes that continue the theme of the watch. The model is limited to 3,600 pieces worldwide. The number refers to the 3,600 seconds that make up one hour, reinforcing the slicing metaphor created by the katana-shaped minute hand.
Alongside this collaboration piece, Citizen is also releasing four additional sporty Tsyosa models in new colours inspired by the concept of the ‘shore’. With water resistance up to 10 bar, these watches are suited for daily wear as well as active use. The new dial colours — navy blue, marine blue, moss green, and coral red — draw from tones found in the sea and along the coastline, adding a fresh palette to the collection.
