Favre Leuba introduces its first ever tourbillon, the Chief Tourbillon

Limited to 25 pieces, the new Chief Tourbillon has been developed in collaboration with independent master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon
Founded in 1737, Favre Leuba is the second oldest watch brand. Recently resuscitated under the CEO and Chairman Patrik Hoffmann, the brand made a splash last year at Geneva Watch Week 2024, when it unveiled 22 new creations, across three lines—Chief (land), cushion-shaped watches that reimagine a collection from 1970; Sea Sky (air), which has a strong focus on chronographs: and Deep Blue (sea), originally launched in 1964 and a testament to the brand’s diving legacy. Continuing the Chief line, the brand’s latest release is its first ever tourbillon watch, Chief Tourbillon.

The latest watch is a 25-piece limited edition developed in close collaboration with Jean-François Mojon, independent master watchmaker who has created movements for brands such as MB&F, Czapek, Hermès and more.

“The Chief collection is the cornerstone of Favre Leuba's renaissance,” says CEO Patrik Hoffmann. “Where the first Chief captivated with its cambered cushion case that gently softens at the four corners, the Chief Tourbillon opens a new chapter with the most intricate complication in our history. It demonstrates both our technical and aesthetic ambition, our exacting standards, and what we're capable of delivering at an unmatched price point for this level of technical sophistication and finishing,” he added.

Encased in 41mm stainless steel, the watch features a three-level structured dial with 0.15mm raised circular, sunray brushed, matte triangles. The tourbillon is located at 6 o’clock with a tiny flame blue seconds hand. There are rhodium-plated polished hour markers and satin-brushed/sandblasted rhodium-plated hour and minute hands, both with Super-LumiNova C1 X1 blue.

Based on Chronode C502, the new manual winding Calibre FL T01 provides a 60-hour power reserve. The watch is offered in a high-grade wooden box featuring an additional strap, medallion and a loupe.
