Louis Moinet’s new Impulsion Green Titanium pairs a flying tourbillon with a single-pusher chronograph and dresses the piece in a vivid emerald hue. The minute-track rehaut and alligator leather strap are rendered in green with striking red accents on the two chronograph hands, the small seconds, the tourbillon-cage indicator, the five-minute markers, and the strap’s decorative stitching.
Chronograph with tourbillon
As with this model, the mechanism of the in-house, hand-wound LM114 caliber is fully visible from both the front and back. At its center is the column wheel, positioned directly below 12 o'clock: repeatedly pressing the pusher at 2 o'clock allows you to observe its movement, controlling the start, stop, and reset functions. Opposite, at 6 o'clock, is the opening for the flying tourbillon, which is mounted only from below and features an off-center cage. As if that weren't spectacular enough, Louis Moinet has covered the mainplate with a layer of carbon fiber, which protrudes in several places between the gear train and the counters. The markings for the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock and the small seconds at 9 o'clock are applied to a ring of smoked sapphire crystal. Louis Moinet has also considered legibility in the dark: the skeletonized hour and minute hands are partially filled with luminescent material.
Limited to 12 pieces
Looking at the movement from the back, you can see the two mainspring barrels. Together, they provide a long power reserve of 96 hours, or 4 days. The mainplate is finished with a fine circular brushing on this side. The movement is housed in a 42.5 mm four-part case made of Grade 5 titanium, which is partly polished and partly satin-finished. It is 14.75 mm thick and water-resistant to 30 meters. The Impulsion Titanium Green is secured to the wrist by a large-scale alligator strap with a triple-folding clasp. Only 12 pieces will be made.
