A. Lange & Söhne’s iconic square-shaped Cabaret debuts in the brand’s proprietary 750 Honeygold—the brand’s patented alloy which is harder and more scratch-resistant than standard gold. The latest Cabaret Tourbillon Honeygold marks the 18th Lange watch crafted in honey gold.
Launched in 2008, the Cabaret Tourbillon marked a milestone in the brand's journey as it was the world's first stop-seconds tourbillon, thanks to the mechanical mastery by the brand’s engineers. The watch was itself inspired by the brand’s very first rectangular watch launched in 1997 in BaselWorld.
Limited to 50 pieces, the new timepiece follows the same design codes as the original. Measuring 29.5 mm x 39.2 mm, the rectangular case is identical, featuring a contrasting black-rhodiumed background dial with Honeygold crafted hands and aesthetics. The tourbillon with stop seconds function is located at 6 o’clock, just above it are two subdials displaying small seconds (left) and up/down power reserve indicator (right).
Moreover, there’s also Honeygold crafted Roman hour markers at 12, 3, and 9 and six lozenge-shaped hour markers, and a signature big date window.
Turn the watch over to admire the beautifullly decorated manual wind Calibre L042.1, comprising 370 components. It is meticulously built with a three-quarter plate in untreated German silver with Glashütte ribbing. The movement boasts a power reserve of about 120 hours and beats a 3Hz frequency. A dark-brown alligator leather strap complements the watch.
