Repositioned as a separate entity under Montblanc in April this year, Minerva is a high-end, hand-finished Swiss haute horlogerie brand founded in 1858 in the village of Villeret, Switzerland. The move was marked earlier this year by four new launches bearing the Minerva name. Expanding its arsenal, the brand has now introduced the Exo Tourbillon Skeleton Limited Edition 18, putting the spotlight on a blue and white agate cameo depicting its namesake goddess and her connection to Ancient Rome.
Encased in 44.8 mm rose gold, the timepiece comes with a skeletonised dial featuring the brand’s patented Exo Tourbillon, developed by the artisans at the Minerva manufacture in Villeret, at the lower half of the dial.
However, the highlight is the blue and white agate cameo depicting goddess Minerva on the hour and minute dial, located on the upper half of the dial. The base is made from polished blue agate, while the upper layer is made of white agate, which is laser-textured, hand-engraved, and finished by a miniature painter.
Moreover, there’s a slim knurled bezel and an onion-shaped knurled crown at 3 o’clock. Powering the watch is the manual wound Calibre M18.69, revealed by the sapphire crystal. It provides a 50 hour power reserve. A deep Persian blue alligator leather strap completes the watch.
Limited to 18 pieces, The watch is water-resistant to 30 metres and is certified by the Minerva Laboratory Test 500H. The watch is offered in a Persian blue presentation box.
