TAG Heuer achieved the unattainable by any brand: a state-of-the-art carbon hairspring in the latest Carrera model, the Calibre Heuer 02T Tourbillon Nanograph.

Guided by its legacy in avant-garde watchmaking, TAG Heuer has always been a brand to reckon with when it comes to their innovative, forward-thinking art of fine watchmaking. The year has just begun, and the LVMH-brand has already hit us with a world premiere – the use of a carbon hairspring or balance spring in their latest Carrera creation, the Calibre Heuer 02T Tourbillon Nanograph.

The 45mm chronograph symbolises the symphony of watchmaking with scientific discovery with the patented carbon hairspring which regulates the Heuer 02T manufacture movement fitted with a tourbillon mechanism. Stéphane Bianchi, CEO of the LVMH Watchmaking Division and CEO of TAG Heuer, said: “This new interpretation of the TAG Heuer Carrera with its advanced in-house technology underscores our legacy in achieving watchmaking excellence and proves that we remain true to our values of performance, disruption and avant-garde.” The antimagnetic, lightweight and low-density hairspring is designed in a nanoscopic hexagonal pattern which aids the perfect concentric oscillations thereby improving the precision of the timepiece.

The latest Carrera comes with a multilayer dial and movement combinations featuring sandblasted and fine-brushed hexagons on the movement plate. This can be observed through the open-worked and also complements the pattern on the black PVD oscillating mass visible through the
