IWC X Orlebar Brown

Watchmaking powerhouse IWC Schaffhausen announce their partnership with Orlebar Brown with the launch of the Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Edition “Orlebar Brown”, alongside the clothing brand’s new nine-piece collection of resort wear.

Picking the perfect month to announce the partnership, IWC Schaffhausen and Orlebar Brown join hands to unveil the newest Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Edition “Orlebar Brown” along with a nine-piece collection of resort wear. Keeping in tune with the nautical theme of the collaboration, the watch features a stainless-steel case set with a marine-blue dial that houses the nautical chronograph and strapped to a co-branded side fastener delpoyment strap.

Orlebar Brown (whose founding story has an Indian connection) was founded by Adam Brown whose visit to Rajasthan for a friend's 40th birthday party realised the need for an appropriate attire that could work seamlessly for both swimming and socialising. Thus was born the Orlebar Brown swim shorts! Recgonised by their hallmark side-fasteners (that is a part of the strap of the watch) IWC and Orlebar Brown place great importance on the smallest details.

Paying tribute to the company’s new partner, Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, said: “IWC and Orlebar Brown are united by the passion they feel every day for craftsmanship, innovation and quality. Orlebar Brown has reinvented sporty, elegant leisurewear and has proven with its unique, tailored approach that men can also look good in casual out ts. The company is one of the most innovative in its sector and continues to set high standards when it comes to comfort, quality and functionality.

The Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Edition “Orlebar Brown” (Ref. IW390704) stands true to the design and brand aesthetics of Orlebar Brown while also staying true to its own brand aesthetics. The robust design and water-resistance of 6 bar allows the watch to be suited either for an action-packed adventure on the deck of a yacht or a relaxing evening by the pool. The watch is powered by the IWC manufactured calibre 89361 with a flyback function and a power resserve of 68 hours.

In the attempt to create a leisurely wardrobe for smart men, IWC Schaffhausen and Orlebar Brown have worked together to unveil the nine-piece “Capsule Collection” of resort wear. “Just like the Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph, our collection combines timeless elegance and a love of adventure. During the design process, we drew inspiration from IWC’s Portugieser, a watch family that is traditionally associated with the world of water, sailing and navigation. Our collection is intended for men who successfully navigate through life, and the range supports the dynamic lifestyle of sailors, adventurers and explorers with good design, reliable functionality and supreme style,” explained Adam Brown, founder of Orlebar Brown.

The Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph Edition “Orlebar Brown” is available from July in IWC boutiques and from authorised retailers.
