Montblanc continues to redefine luxury watchmaking with its 2025 collections, presenting timepieces that seamlessly blend technical innovation, artistic expression, and storytelling. From haute horlogerie and zero-oxygen technology to complex chronograph movements and mountaineering-inspired masterpieces, these new releases showcase the brand's commitment to craftsmanship and design.
The Iced Sea Collection: Technical Innovation Meets Design
Montblanc's Iced Sea collection receives significant updates for 2025, most notably the introduction of 0 Oxygen technology. The collection now includes a 38mm model with new glacier pattern dials in white and light blue, as well as a 41mm distressed steel edition with a unique weathered finish. A key innovation, the 0 Oxygen technology debuted in 2022 and is designed to eliminate internal fogging and prevent oxidization, ensuring optimal performance in extreme conditions. Now, all Iced Sea collection models will feature this 0 Oxygen technology. Even better, previous models can be upgraded by just taking the timepiece to a Montblanc boutique.
The new 38mm Iced Sea Automatic Date represents a notable evolution in the collection's design philosophy. By reducing the case diameter from 41mm to 38mm, Montblanc has crafted a more versatile timepiece that transcends traditional gender boundaries in watch design.
The white dial marks a historic moment for the collection, as it is the first pure white iteration of the Iced Sea model. This dial is crafted using the intricate gratté-boisé technique, a process that requires four times longer production time compared to standard watch faces and involves over 30 meticulous steps. This painstaking method results in a remarkable three-dimensional representation of glacial ice, capturing the complex crystalline network that has been frozen for millennia.

The light blue variant, our April-June 2025 cover watch, introduces an additional layer of visual complexity through the sfumato effect, an Italian artistic technique where colours and tones gradually merge, creating softened outlines and ethereal transitions. This approach transforms the dial into a mesmerizing landscape, evoking the subtle gradations found in glacial environments.
38mm Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen - Blue
The 38mm models offer versatility with the option of a stainless steel bracelet or a matching-coloured rubber strap. The rubber straps for the 38mm models have been redesigned to include a 3D glacier pattern on the inside, enhancing breathability and comfort. These models feature a stainless steel case with curved horns and polished and satin finishing, along with a stainless steel screwed and fluted crown adorned with the Montblanc emblem. The light blue dial version includes a bi-coloured blue anodized aluminum bezel insert, while the white dial version features a white ceramic bezel insert. The 38mm models have a case diameter of 38mm and a height of 12.3mm.

The second release presents a dramatically different aesthetic with its distressed steel finish, celebrating the beauty of intentional ageing. This unique finish is achieved by treating the stainless steel case with a black coating, manually washing the steel, and then meticulously brushing it with quartzite sourced from the Mont-Blanc Massif. This treatment ensures that each timepiece develops its own distinct patina and appearance.
The accompanying bezel is a technical marvel, featuring black ceramic inserts treated with a sophisticated two-step laser process. This treatment creates a nuanced visual hierarchy, with the first 15 minutes featuring prominently highlighted white minute markers, while subsequent sections display a subtler light grey texture. The grey sfumato glacier pattern dial echoes the collection's thematic connection to alpine landscapes, employing the same intricate gratté-boisé technique that has become a hallmark of the Iced Sea line.
41mm Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen in distressed steel
The 41mm distressed steel model is distinguished by its distressed stainless steel case with curved horns and polished and satin finishing, and a stainless steel unidirectional rotatable bezel with a black ceramic insert. The crystal is a scratch-resistant, domed box-shaped sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating. The caseback showcases a 3D engraving of a scuba diver and an iceberg. The dial is a grey sfumato glacier pattern dial with white luminescent rhodium-coated Arabic numerals and indexes. This model has a case diameter of 41mm and a height of 12.9mm and is fitted with an interchangeable black rubber strap with a taper and fine adjustment system.
All models are powered by Montblanc's MB 24.17 automatic movement, offering approximately 38 hours of power reserve. They are certified to the ISO 6425 standard for diving watches, ensuring exceptional performance in challenging conditions.
Automatic Date 0 Oxygen: A Bronze-Toned Marvel
The Montblanc 1858 Automatic Date 0 Oxygen introduces a warm, sophisticated aesthetic with its bronze-toned design. Featuring a grained brown dial with a gradient sfumato effect, the watch captures attention with its nuanced colour palette. The dial is complete with luminescent rose-gold coloured hands and Arabic numerals complemented by a railway track running along the dial's periphery. The date is positioned at 3 o'clock in a bronze-coloured frame.
The dial is framed by a brown bezel made from a brown ceramic insert, with cardinal points coated in a luminescent bronze colour that adds a sporty yet refined touch. The 41mm cupro aluminium case represents a technical marvel - an innovative alloy that is one and a half times more resistant than traditional bronze, offering superior corrosion resistance while developing an attractive patina over time.
Montblanc Automatic Date 0 Oxygen
Engineered for performance, the watch boasts water resistance up to 10 bar (100 meters) and sits elegantly on a brown sfumato calf leather strap with an interchangeable strap system. The caseback tells a story of its own, featuring an engraved Mont Blanc mountain alongside a compass and two crossed ice pick-axes - a symbolic nod to the watch's ability to perform even at the world's highest summits.
The Montblanc Automatic Date 0 Oxygen is powered by the MB24.17 automatic movement offering a 38-hour power reserve. Its 0 Oxygen technology eliminates fogging and prevents oxidization, ensuring optimal performance in challenging environments and making it an ideal companion for explorers and watch enthusiasts alike.

Geosphere 0 Oxygen Monte Rosa: A Limited Alpine Tribute
Dedicated to Monte Rosa, Western Europe's second-highest mountain, this limited edition of 100 pieces is a testament to Montblanc's mountaineering spirit and its historical connection to Monte Rosa, which once lent its name to a line of Montblanc writing instruments in the 1900s. The watch features a striking black sfumato glacier pattern dial, created through an intricate 30-step process that takes four times longer than standard dial production.
The dial's creation involves volume stamping to create the iced pattern and the special gratté boisé technique. Each layer is printed, lacquered, polished, and dried overnight before the next layer is applied, resulting in a dial designed to replicate the impression of glacial ice with its interlocking network of crystals frozen in time. The black ice inspiration captures the depth and luminosity reminiscent of glaciers.
The timepiece incorporates Montblanc's 0 Oxygen technology. Each watch comes with a certificate guaranteeing the successful oxygen-free encasing.
Montblanc Geosphere 0 Oxygen Monte Rosa
It also includes a worldtime complication with rotating Northern and Southern hemisphere globes, capturing the essence of global exploration. Powered by the caliber MB 29.25 automatic movement, it offers a 42-hour power reserve. Like with all 1858 Geosphere models, both the Northern and Southern hemispheres are represented by two three-dimensional globes that turn anticlockwise and include a day and night indication, allowing the wearer to see the time across the Earth at a glance. The date is displayed at 3 o'clock, and the dual time indication is at 9 o'clock. The terrestrial territories on the globes are dressed in luminescent material for night viewing.
The watch comes fitted with a new interchangeable rubber strap featuring a pattern inspired by mountaineering ropes, with stitching above the lugs and a mountainous profile pattern on the inside for breathability and comfort. The strap is tapered and includes a fine adjustment system.
The caseback is made of titanium and features a 3D laser colour engraving of the Monte Rosa mountain range. The engraving is achieved through a process of structuring, laser engraving, finishing, and laser-generated oxidation for coloring. The caseback also includes the names of the seven highest summits on each continent – Denali, Everest, Mount Elbrus, Puncak Jaya, Vinson, Kilimanjaro, and Aconcagua – which, along with Mont Blanc, are marked by dots on the globes.

Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson: An Antarctic Expedition Companion
Paying homage to legendary alpinist Reinhold Messner, the Mount Vinson edition is limited to 986 pieces, commemorating the year of Messner's Antarctic summit. The 43.5mm titanium case is directly inspired by the Mount Vinson landscape and features a unique composite middle case crafted from quartz fibers, aluminized basalt fibers, CaCO3, and light blue resin, reminiscent of the colours and patterns of age-old glacial ice found in Antarctica.
Reinforcing the world of adventure and exploration, the middle case is adorned with a luminous outline of Mount Vinson that shines white by day and luminous blue by night, positioned on the left side of the case so only the wearer can see it. The blue-green dial, crafted using gratté-boisé, evokes the depth and luminosity of ancient glaciers. The dial is further highlighted by a light grey anodized aluminum bezel with blue luminescent cardinal points.
The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson Limited Edition joins Montblanc’s series of 0 Oxygen timepieces. Each timepiece comes with a certificate as proof of this special, yet invisible, technology and guarantees the successful encasing without oxygen. It is powered by the Caliber MB 29.25 automatic movement, featuring Montblanc's Manufacture Worldtime complication, offering a 42-hour power reserve.
Montblanc Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Vinson
Similar to the other Geosphere models, the dial also represents both the Northern and Southern hemispheres by two three-dimensional globes that turn anti-clockwise and include a day and night indication so that the wearer can see what time it is across the Earth at a simple glance. A keen eye will also notice that Montblanc has included dots marking the seven peaks of Messner's List on the Northern Hemisphere globe and the Mont Blanc summit. There is also a date at three o'clock and a dual time indication at nine o'clock.
To celebrate the full beauty of Mount Vinson, Montblanc has added an engraving of this majestic peak on the titanium caseback using a technique that provides an authentic 3D rendering that looks almost like a photograph. The metal must first be structured, which means that the decoration will be engraved by laser, taking into consideration the relief of the drawing. Next, the desired finish (matte and shiny) is similarly achieved by laser. In the final phase, the colours are created with laser-generated oxidation.

The watch comes fitted, for the first time, with a new easily interchangeable rubber strap. It is not only the rubber that is new: the blue-green strap features a mountaineer's rope motif in keeping with the alpine theme. The strap design also includes a mountainous profiles pattern on the inside to improve breathability and comfort on the wrist. Like the other straps in the 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen line, it is tapered, easily interchangeable, and comes with a fine adjustment system. Finally, this newly rubber strap includes elegant stitching above the lugs, a signature feature on watches in the 1858 collection.
Geosphere Annual Calendar: A Minerva Masterpiece
Representing a pinnacle of technical achievement, the Geosphere Annual Calendar comes in two limited editions: 30 pieces in Lime Gold and 100 pieces in stainless steel. Inspired by Minerva's historic timepieces, both editions come with fixed-fluted bezels matching the case. The Lime Gold model has a bezel matching the case material, while the stainless steel version features a white gold bezel.
The 42-mm watches are powered by the brand new manually wound Minerva movement with 336 hand-decorated components and have a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. The 336 components are all hand-decorated using traditional haute horlogerie techniques, such as Côtes de Genève and snail finishing. The workings of this intricate movement can be admired through a sapphire crystal caseback. They come equipped with a hand-painted three-dimensional worldtimer function, an innovative annual calendar display, and a large date positioned at 12 o'clock. The annual calendar display, a first for the Minerva portfolio, features the months around the dial's periphery.
Montblanc Geosphere Annual Calendar Stainless Steel
The red arrow, reminiscent of the Roman goddess Minerva, makes it easy to read at a glance and is a nod to the Roman goddess Minerva, the deity of craftsmanship. Notably, the month of July is replaced by the word 'Minerva,' a reference to the date the Minerva trademark was registered (July 30, 1887). The hand-painted Northern Hemisphere globe comes with a Day and Night indication. It is crafted from sapphire crystal. The globe also indicates the Greenwich Mean Time line with an orange line and a 24-hour scale. The Southern Hemisphere globe is available on request.
These two new limited editions celebrate the Minerva heritage with their silver/white-coloured sunray and grained dials with blue-coated hands and indexes (for the stainless steel version) and yellow gold-coated hands and indexes (for the Lime Gold 750/1000 (18 karats model). They come with a blue interchangeable calf leather strap with alligator print and a stainless steel triple-folding clasp with a fine adjustment system.

Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph: A Vintage-Inspired Precision Instrument
Drawing inspiration from a 1930s military chronograph, this limited edition of 100 pieces features a 44mm stainless steel case with a white gold fluted bezel. The dark burgundy dial with vintage-shaped hands and a tachymeter scale pays homage to Minerva's historic timepieces. It is completed by a central split-second hand, black chronograph counters, and white luminescent Arabic numerals. The watch also features a 30-minute chronograph counter.
The manually wound calibre MB M16.31 includes a split-second complication, or "rattrapante" as it is called in French, allowing intermediate time measurements without interrupting the primary timing. The split second can be activated using the two chronograph seconds hands. The pusher at 2 o’clock can then stop one hand while the other continues running. A further push and the stopped hand can be released to “catch up” with the running hand, allowing for repeated intermediate time measurements.
Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph
The calibre MB M16.31 is inspired by the original Minerva chronograph calibre 19-09CH from 1909, as well as its successor, the 17-29, developed in the 1930s. It features handcrafted traditional finishes, such as Côtes de Genève, inner angles, circular graining and bevelling, performed at the Montblanc Manufacture in Villeret. The calibre has two column wheels for the chronograph and the split complication, horizontal coupling, and a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
Offering a 50-hour power reserve, the new 1858 Split Second Chronograph Limited Edition comes with a new dark burgundy-toned interchangeable calf leather strap with alligator print and a stainless steel triple folding clasp with fine adjustment system.

The new Unveiled Minerva Chronograph is powered by the caliber MB M17.26 with the monopusher flipped over to display all the mechanical action on the dial side of the watch. Five sapphire crystal apertures allow light to flood the 291 hand-finished components, creating a mesmerizing display of mechanical artistry. The chronograph complication of the calibre MB M17.26 has been constructed on pillars. The chronograph bridge has also been put on top of the movement to highlight this component, the specific design of which was patented in 1912. It sits comfortably on a brown sfumato calf leather strap with an alligator print and a stainless steel triple-folding clasp with a fine adjustment system.
Montblanc Unveiled Minerva Chronograph Movement caliber MB M17.26
The yellow gold fluted bezel is inspired by Minerva's first fluted bezel dating back to 1927. The Minerva arrow is a tribute to the Roman goddess who is often depicted with her arrow-tipped staff in hand. The "V"-shaped bridge is inspired by the view of the mountains seen from the watchmakers' window in Villeret, a sight that has been a constant since the founding of the workshop in 1858.
Particular attention has been paid to the indications so that they don't distract from the movement, with a sapphire crystal dial, an open-worked 30-minute chronograph counter, an open-worked small seconds display, and elegant hands and indexes that have been created with Super-LumiNova for enhanced legibility. The timepiece is fitted with an engraved caseback featuring an intricate drawing of the historic Minerva Manufacture.

Star Legacy Collection: A Tribute to Craftsmanship
The Star Legacy collection introduces several models that pay homage to Montblanc's historical connections. Highlighted by a sfumato anthracite dial with an exploding star guilloché motif, the collection includes a Full Calendar, Automatic Day & Date, and Automatic Date model. The collection notably features a new calf leather strap designed by Montnblanc's Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta, with a shape inspired by fountain pen nibs.
The sfumato effect, also seen in Montblanc leather goods, creates a gradient effect as the shade changes from lighter at the center of the dial to darker towards the outside. The Montblanc emblem is applied to the dial on an elegant cartouche, and the date apertures have a reworked serif-style font. The central star overlaps with the counterweight of the seconds hand on the Automatic Day & Date and Automatic Date models each time it passes. The exploding star guilloché motif is central to all three new timepieces, reflecting the star shape's ties to Montblanc’s foundation.
Star Legacy Full Calendar (42mm)
The most complex of the three models offers a comprehensive calendar function, displaying hours, minutes, seconds, day, date, month, and moonphase.

Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph
The 43-mm stainless steel model stands out with its green dial and unique design paying tribute to the inventor of the first inking chronograph. Featuring an in-house MB R200 chronograph movement with a monopusher at 8 o'clock, the watch is paired well with a matching green interchangeable calf leather strap with a vertical sfumato design. Designed by Montblanc Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta, the new strap draws inspiration from the Maison’s writing instrument nibs for its pointed shape. The lining has also been enhanced with a map of Paris from 1821. Those familiar with Paris may recognize the neighborhood of the Ile de la Cité, where Rieussec had his workshop, and the Champ-de-Mars horse racing track, where the story of this famous timepiece first began.
