Swiss-based TUDOR stepped in Watches and Wonders 2023 with a collection of five classic and sporty timepieces which include diving watches, a GMT, and an “affordable sport-chic”.
Black Bay
First launched in 2012, the new Black Bay is the third iteration of TUDOR’s iconic diving watch. The timepiece features a 41mm stainless steel case, a proportion similar to that of the “original”, with a 60-minute unidirectional bezel in burgundy. The black dial is delicately brushed and domed, and feature gold accents along with TUDOR’s “snowflake” hands applied with LumiNova®.
Black BayManufacture Calibre MT5602-U drives the watch and offers about 70 hours of power reserve. The watch comes with a choice of three-link “rivet-style” or five-oval-shaped-link bracelet or an additional rubber strap, all with a “T-fit” rapid adjustment clasp for an adjustable fit around the wearer’s wrist.
Black Bay 54
TUDOR’s first-ever dive watch released back in 1954, the ref. 7922, gets a comeback in a new size and movement with Black Bay 54. The new 37mm stainless steel case houses the Manufacture Calibre MT5400, which is COSC-certified, weekend-proof, and offers about 70 hours of power reserve.
Black Bay 54The black satin-brushed dial features gold accents, and Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova® over “snowflake” hands and indices. The unidirectional bezel (and the crown) is redesigned to give a modern touch, but lacks any graduated hash marks that could be seen in the historical version. Similar to the new Black Bay, this model also comes with a three-link or five-link bracelet or a rubber strap, with a “T-fit” rapid adjustment system.
Black Bay 31/36/39/41
Apart from the sporty models, TUDOR has introduced a unisex, chic timepiece in four case sizes - 31mm, 36mm, 39mm, and 41mm.
Black Bay 31/36/39/41The watches are crafted in satin-brushed and polished stainless steel with different Manufacture Calibres - 31mm houses MT5201, 36mm has MT5400, 39mm is driven by MT5602, and MT5601 powers the 41mm version. The sunray dials come in different colours- blue, anthracite or light champagne-coloured, with or without diamonds, and a contrasting minutes-track. The “snowflake” hands are layered with Super-LumiNova® and all watches come with a five-link bracelet with a “T-fit” rapid adjustment system. The timepieces are iterations of the classic Black Bay but with a fixed bezel.
Black Bay GMT
The new Black Bay GMT is TUDOR’s classic approach to the traveller’s watch. On grounds of the recognisable GMT function, the watch features a 24-hour bi-directional rotating bezel in burgundy and deep blue colour scheme with anodised aluminium insert. The watch is water resistant to about 200 metres.
Black Bay GMTInside the 41mm 316L stainless steel case lies the COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre MT5652, which offers about 70 hours of power reserve and has an integrated GMT function, a jumping hour hand and a retrograde date-setting function. At 3 o’clock lies the date aperture.
Another notable feature of the new Black Bay GMT lies in its domed, contrasting “opaline” dial which has a matte white-grey finish obtained through the galvanic process. The dial is highly legible and features a silvery hint. The watch comes with a choice of either a three-link “rivet-style” bracelet or TUDOR’s hallmark jacquard-woven fabric strap.
TUDOR Royal
TUDOR RoyalTUDOR brings an affordable sport-chic watch to its collection with the TUDOR Royal in four sizes - 28mm, 34mm, 38mm, and 41mm, and crafted in either 316L stainless steel or a combination of 316L stainless steel and yellow gold, in 13 possible dial variations to suit the wearer’s personality. The sunray satin-finished cases now have dials in two brand-new colours, chocolate brown and salmon, along with a mother-of-pearl dial in the smallest diameter version, among black, silver, champagne, and blue. The 28mm version has a diamond-studded bezel while other versions have a notched bezel crafted in 316L stainless steel or yellow gold. The baton hands are applied with Super-LumiNova®. The timepiece is worn with an integrated five-link bracelet.
