Tudor reveals two new Pelagos FXD models inspired by yacht racing

The launch of the timepieces honours the association between Tudor and the yacht race, Alinghi Red Bull Racing
In 2022, Tudor and Alinghi Red Bull Racing kicked off their long-term partnership, and with it, Tudor debuted in the world of yacht racing. Now, a year later, Tudor has unveiled two new Pelagos FXD models - a chronograph and a time-only watch. The timepieces are crafted with carbon composite and bezel insert, titanium, and stainless steel, the same material used on an AC75 (America’s Cup 75) hydrofoil racing yacht, representing the very best in cutting-edge maritime engineering.

Also, it is the first time that the brand has integrated a chronograph calibre into a fixed strap-bars case. The Pelagos FXD models further include titanium for the bezel, crown and direct-action pushers, while the caseback and movement are made with 316L stainless steel. Both models - Pelagos FXD 42mm (Ref. m25707kn-0001) and Pelagos FXD Chrono 43mm (Ref. m25807kn-0001) - have a bidirectional 120-notch rotatable bezel applied with Swiss Super-LumiNova® Grade X1, which is 60% more efficient than standard grades.

The 200-metre water resistant FXD case design of these fresh sports watches are characterised by their fixed strap bars - the models were initially developed for French navy combat divers. Keeping in mind the start of the regatta, the bezels of the timepieces are graduated from 60 to 0, for easy tracking of countdowns. The mentions of the Alinghi Red Bull Racing on the rehaut and its logo on the caseback further honours the collaboration.

The Pelagos FXD models have a blue matte dial, identical to the hue of the hull of the AC75 racing yacht and featuring ‘Snowflake’ hands coated with ceramic composite monobloc luminescence. However, the dial of the Pelagos FXD Chrono 43mm has subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock, and a date window at 9 o’clock. Both the timepieces are powered by Manufacture Calibres MT5602 (Ref. m25707kn-0001) and MT5813 (Ref. m25807kn-0001), which are COSC certified, and boast a ‘weekend-proof’ 70-hour power reserve. The watches are completed by the hallmark strap of the brand—a single piece blue fabric strap with red accents and having a titanium “D” buckle with a self-gripping fastening system.
