On the occasion of the brand’s 15th anniversary of one of its most innovative mechanisms, the resonance complication, Armin Strom has unveiled the new Dual Time GMT Resonance First Edition (Ref. WG24-DT.90). The watch is a limited edition of 25 pieces.
The timepiece is designed now in a symmetrical, circular, 39mm case crafted in 18K white gold. On the dial, the two balance wheels operate in synchronised motion in a state of Resonance. The clutch spring transmits the vibrations between these balance springs through their pulsation.
The Dual Time GMT Resonance First Edition allows the wearer to set two timezones independently on the two identical sky blue dials, which are decorated with grenage finish, and feature black azurage chapter rings, polished applied baton indexes, and rhodium-plated faceted hands. On both the dials at 6 o’clock, engraved and mirror-polished day/night indicator discs depicting the sun and the moon indicate AM/PM for the time on each dial. There are two crowns on 4 and 8 o’clock to set the time on their respective side dial.
The three-dimensional ratchet mechanism of the Dual Time GMT Resonance is linked to a pinion positioned between the two barrels to evenly distribute the load. This system is divided into two parts: The lower gear, which features Breguet teeth and is attached to the mainplate, and the top element, equipped with a spring connected to the axis. This design enhances the precision of engagement and disengagement in the winding mechanism, leading to a precise and smooth functionality of the winding system. The watch comes with two straps that includes a matte-grey alligator with sky-blue stitching and a light-grey alligator with pearl-grey stitching, both completed with a 18K pin buckle. It is priced at Rs 1,14,45,000 (approx.)
