The all new Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terratum featuring the world time complication is dedicated to watch aficionados and travellers across the globe. Inspired by Minerva pocket watches from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the Star Legacy collection features the signature round, polished pebble-shaped case, onion-shaped crowns with refined dials and Sfumato alligator leather straps coming from the Pelletteria, Florence (Italy). Orbis Terrarum comes from Latin, meaning “globe”, “earth”, and “world”, and provides the inspiration for the new Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum collection available in two versions; stainless steel with blue aesthetics and 18K rose gold in shades of dark and light brown. The latter is limited just 500 pieces.
The inspiration of the “Orbis Terrarum” is embodied through the dial which features clear and refined colours. Made from two overlapping rotating discs - the sapphire crystal disc that offers a map of the continents and meridians of the Northern Hemisphere and a day & night disc that changes colour ( from dark blue to light blue for the steel version and brown to light brown for the rose gold version) indicating day & night in all 24 time zones of the world.
Additionally, a red-tipped triangle has been added at 12 o’clock and points towards the city of the owner’s local time zone. With the help of a single pusher, the watches can be easily set while travelling.
The Montblanc Star Legacy Orbis Terrarum is crafted in a 43mm case that houses the Calibre MB M29.20 Manufacture world time complication movement working within. Fitted with a blue Sfumato strap for the steel version and a brown Sfumato strap for the rose gold version, both of which come from the Pelletteria, Florence (Italy), the two models guarantee to bring joy and adventure to your wrist.
