The all new Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “IWC Racing” unveiled by IWC is a horological masterpiece that has been inspired by the world of racing.

Apart from its fantastic design aesthetics, one of the most promising feature of the watch is its technical acumen. It houses IWC's patented constant-force mechanism allows the transmission of even impulses of force to the escapement and therefore ensuring a highly precise rate. This is all made possible with the powerful engine -the IWC-Manufactured 94800 calibre -that works tirelessly within the timepiece. It's patented constant-force mechanism working in tandem to the tourbillon function manages to ensure a high rate of precision. Clocking in a power reserve of 4 days, the IWC-manufactured 94800 calibre hand-wound movement is one of the most complicated mechanical movement designed in Schaffhausen.

Apart from the timepiece's technical feat, the Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “IWC Racing” is also the Maison first Big Pilot's watch made from Ceratanium®. The 46mm case, its striking conical crown and the pin buckle on the strap is crafted from the IWC-developed material. Ceratanium® is light and robust like titanium but also features hard and scratc-resistant qualities like ceramic. Aesthetically, one of the standout feature of Ceratanium® is its unique matte black finish that looks great on the wrist.

The dial of the Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “IWC Racing” is where the “racing-inspiration” details are set up. While the constant-force tourbillon at 9 o' clock is the main focus, the dial also features a double moonphase display for the norther and souther hemispheres and a power reserve display at 4 o' clock that is reminiscent of a tachometer. White numerals and yellow-coloured accents give the dial a dashboard like appearance. Additionally, the louvred, ring-shaped structure on of the outer ring is inspired by the cold air intakes of a high-performance engine.

Limited to just 15 pieces, the Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “IWC Racing” comes in a black rubber strap with an inlay made of Alcantara® that is often used for seats and steering wheel covers of performance cars.
