Founded in 1845 by François Czapek, a Polish watchmaker, Czapek & Cie. made watches for the court of French Emperor Napoleon III, partnered with Antoine Norbert de Patek (of Patek Philippe) to found Patek, Czapek & Cie., and even opened boutiques in Geneva, Warsaw, and Paris. After fading into obscurity around 1871 and a long period of dormancy, the brand was revived in 2012 by Harry Guhl, along with Xavier Rocquemaurel and Sébastien Follonier, co-founder of the revived Czapek & Cie. It became the first haute horlogerie brand revived by watch aficionados worldwide, who invested in the company by way of an equity crowdfunding campaign. Today, the brand is known for its innovative in-house movements and classic design elements, encapsulated in collections like Antarctique, Quai des Bergues, Faubourg de Cracovie, and Promenade, which was launched in 2024.
