Watches and Wonders 2025: Hautlence launches Linear Series 3 in bold red

Hautlence’s latest outing– Linear Series 3 – comes in a bold red colour, equipped with in-house movements and signature style the brand stays true to its legacy
Since 2022, Hautlence has been refining the brand’s offerings with collections like the Vagabonde and the Linear Series. Within these, the brand recently unveiled a new variant – Linear Series 3.

Following a blue and all-black version in 2022, the Linear Series 3 comes dressed largely in bold red, from the strap to the dial. Staying true to the design cues, the dial is a TV-shaped case just like the previous outings from the brand in the same series. The satin-finished and polished stainless steel case is 43mm X 50.8mm X 12.2mm, including 3mm sapphire crystal. Surrounding the dial is a notched bezel that features a red rubber band.

The dial comprises many levels: There is the base dial, a skeletonised rhodium-plated base in brass; Intermediate dial, featuring a tinted sapphire minute track; Upper dial, featuring the hour numerals on a vertical scale from 1 to 12. A small white pointer on the linear retrograde jumping hour marks the hour. Every time the minute hand crosses 60, the pointer jumps to the next hour. When at the 12-hour mark, a snail disengages the probe to release the accumulated energy returning the linkage, and pointer, back to 1.

The linear hour markers use a linkage that was used in the first movement developed by the brand in 2004: The calibre HL. However, the Linear Series 3 is powered by Calibre D50, an entirely in-house developed, designed and produced self-winding movement that oscillates at a frequency of 3 Hz and offers a power reserve of 72 hours. There is also a flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock, visible through a skeletonized bridge.

The crown comes in similar fashion, finished with a red rubber band with an engraved Hautlence logo. The 28 pieces limited collection comes with a red rubber strap with a pin buckle and offers water resistance of 100 meters. The watch is priced at Rs 61,19,000 (approx.).
