Paris Olympics 2024 is round the corner and the official timekeeper of the games is marking every moment to the occasion with the release of Paris 2024 edition timepieces. After the Seamaster Diver 300M and four versions of Speedmaster Chronoscope (on Moonshine gold with leather strap, Moonshine gold with bracelet, steel with leather strap, and steel with bracelet), the latest release in the series is the Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition, marking the glory of the Olympics Games.
The timepiece honours the prestigious gold, silver, and bronze medals awarded to the winners at the Olympic games, therefore it is made of all the three metals. The 39mm case is crafted from Bronze Gold, the brand’s proprietary alloy with 9K gold (37.5%) mixed with palladium and silver and delivers a soft pink hue and high corrosion-resistant properties. The dial is made with 925 silver decorated with Clous de Paris at the centre, and the minute track and small seconds at 6 o’clock finely detailed with circular brushed pattern. The brand logo at 12 appears in a vintage style. The hands are in 18K Sedna™ Gold coated with PVD Bronze Gold.
The watch’s vintage appeal is inspired by an Omega wristwatch from 1939, the reference CK 859, which is reflected by the “BG 859” engraving on the caseback, where BG stands for ‘Bronze Gold’. Stamped and frosted Olympic Games Paris 2024 medallion also marks its place on the caseback.
The vintage model housed the 30T manual-winding small seconds calibre, and the manual-wound Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8926 driving the new model pays tribute to it. Its power reserve is 72 hours. The watch comes flanked with a brown calf-skin leather strap completed with a sandblasted Bronze Gold buckle, kept inside a special presentation box. It is priced at INR 11,98,000 approximately.
