Watches and Wonders 2025: Trilobe's latest collection Une Folle Journée keeps time flowing

An instantly recognizable design by Trilobe with a touch of colour and a suspended mechanism makes all the difference in three latest novelties
Trilobe has been innovating the art of time telling with their unique dials. The latest collection,  Une Folle Journée, is a testament to it, but with an optical and technical trick. The name of the collection translates to –- One Crazy Day — and the 3D watches personify that. The French brand has achieved great things with a small change: The rhodium-plated movement bridges create such a striking contrast with the three number rings that the already spectacular watch appears even more three-dimensional.

Trilobe's Une Folle Journée

The three diagonally positioned circular rings that gave the brand its name ‘Trilobe,’ create an extraordinary time display without any hands. The largest ring is for the hours; the middle one for the minutes; and the smallest for the seconds. A total of nine pillars ensure the stability of the rings. They rotate counterclockwise around a small red triangle, where the current time is read.

The astonishing architecture, visible beneath a hemispherical sapphire crystal, is already remarkable in the standard model. But the strong contrast created by the rhodium-plated movement parts and the rings makes it truly breathtaking. The bridges' first-class workmanship, refined by micro-blasting, creates very fine, roughened surfaces, from which the beveled and polished edges stand out sharply. The rings are made of a titanium-aluminum-vanadium alloy.

The automatic movement behind the time display is called the Trilobe X-Centric Calibre, designed and developed in-house. It consists of 196 individual parts, is automatically wound via a micro-rotor, and offers a 48-hour power reserve.

Trilobe's Une Folle Journée comes in three colours

The entire case is housed in a Grade 5 titanium case. Its diameter is 40.5 mm, and the watch's total height is 17.8 mm, of which the sapphire crystal sphere alone accounts for 10.2 mm. It is 1.2 mm thick and coated with several layers of ARDUR anti-reflective coating to ensure the best possible view of the spectacle from every angle. Trilobe has the raw form manufactured in Japan, and the dome is polished and finished in Switzerland.

The Folle Journée Rhodinée Edition is available in three colors: the three rings appear in green, blue, or black. The colors are achieved using a DLC coating. The watches are water-resistant to 50 meters and are worn on a leather strap with a pin buckle.
