Celebrating a decade of the brand, five years ago, Laurent Ferrier introduced the Classic Origin. This time at Dubai Watch Week, the maison is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary by returning to the maiden Classic Origin with a new interpretation — the Classic Origin Beige.

The new model retains the proportions of the 40 mm Classic’s case with curves reminiscent of a river-smoothed pebble. However, for the first time in the line, this case is crafted in 5N red gold paired with a new beige dial, bringing warmth to the collection. The dial echoes the minimalist ethos of the brand with an opaline finish dial featuring a brown railway track marking minutes with red numerals on the periphery of the dial. There is a central cross and 18-karat 5N red gold hour makers at 3, 9 and 12 o’clock, while a small-seconds, also in red, sits at 6 o’clock. Baton-shaped red-gold hands mark the seconds, while Assegai-shaped central hands in red gold mark the hour and minutes. There is a signature ball-shaped crown at 3 o’clock matching the dial.

Visible from the sapphire case back, manually wound LF116.01 calibre keeps the watch running. Enhancing precision, this movement features a screw balance guided by a Breguet-type overcoil hairspring. It also features the treasured long-blade ratchet pawl, polished and chamfered by hand, it produces a unique tactile sensation when winding, the sound of a crisp click. Once fully wound, the watch offers a power reserve of over 80 hours.
Aesthetically, the bridges of the movement are sandblasted and treated in black rhodium, while the edges are hand polished, contrasting with mirror-polished screws. Finally, the watch is completed by a hand-sewn mocha nubuck strap with tone-on-tone Alcantara lining fastened with a matching red gold pin buckle.
